A family member has a very long tulle wedding veil. She wants rhinestones along the entire edge and has purchased rhinestones that are strung along (they come on a reel)... how do I attach these?
I tried hand sewing and the thread will not stay around the rhinestone.
I tried machine sewing but there isn't a foot I have that will allow the rhinestones to go under the presser foot. The piping foot will, but it will only allow me to stitch beside the rhinestons.
I tried using water soluble sticky back stabilizer to anchor the veil while I sew the rhinestones on but that didn't do anything either.
I have heard of using a quick drying glue, but I am not sure if that will hold them in place for the ceremony.

Any and all suggestions appreciated. I am on a bit of a timeline here....
