    Default Wedding veil/rhinestones question/help

A family member has a very long tulle wedding veil. She wants rhinestones along the entire edge and has purchased rhinestones that are strung along (they come on a reel)... how do I attach these?
I tried hand sewing and the thread will not stay around the rhinestone.
I tried machine sewing but there isn't a foot I have that will allow the rhinestones to go under the presser foot. The piping foot will, but it will only allow me to stitch beside the rhinestons.
I tried using water soluble sticky back stabilizer to anchor the veil while I sew the rhinestones on but that didn't do anything either.
I have heard of using a quick drying glue, but I am not sure if that will hold them in place for the ceremony.

Any and all suggestions appreciated. I am on a bit of a timeline here....

I'd say return them and get hot fix but the problem is the netting tulle. really nothing to glue to.
there are youtubes about adding and sewing rhinestones to a veil.

I think if you teach her to hand sew them on the effort and item will mean a lot more to her...

In the class that I took recently, The presenter glued first then secured with clear thread/filament. E-6000 glue should hold them in place (w/o stitching) for a ceremony. The Presenter made the Duchess Gowns for our Buccaneer's Day Court. Super expensive.

E6000 is a great glue .....but...... it does come with an odour.
Consider carefully, before you use it for this purpose.

Like others, you have a challenge, being that the veil gives you so little "substance" to attach these rhinestones.
    Good Luck!

Thank you for the helpful suggestions... I have used E6000 before but don't have any presently - I will look to get some. I have clear monofilament. When I tried to use silk or polyester thread to sew the rhinestones on, it shredded, but maybe having them glued in place will help. Thank you again!

You could try Aleenes glue, they have all kinds, i believe there is one to afix rhinestones to fabric. And I do believe its permanent.
    Best of luck
