My first large quilt was for my son and his bride nearly 20 years ago. This year my son handed over the quilt and asked for repairs as it's a favourite. The quilt was made with Fabricland fabric as I thought would be the best place to buy fabric. Much of it had literally worn through. Thankfully I still had pieces of the same fabric in my stash and was able to use it for repairs. I just cut squares, folded the edges and sewed them over top of the worn squares, not quite remaking the entire quilt. In another 20 years they can throw the quilt away.
So much JOY in all this ... they still had the quilt and obviously treasured it, by wanting your TLC to fix it, so they could continue to use it! JOY JOY JOY!
And now we know why we have our stashes!
