It's the same as adding a layer of flannel to the batting, i guess. I wonder if it is both sides. I buy the inexpensive flannel at Hobby Lobby or Walmart and do wash it to shrink it. This Birdie batting says not to wash so it will crinkle. That would be a lot of crinkles.
