Some people purchased the Dear Jane book by Brenda Papadakis, and others purchased the software which allows you to print the blocks in whatever method of piecing you prefer. Some of the blocks are strickly applique. I purchased both and have not opened the book since I started this project. The software (which also comes with a very detailed manual) is your best bet.
