I honestly don't remember a time when I didn't love books. As a child, thanks to the Bookmobile, it wasn't unusual for me to read 300 t0 400 books over the summer. Yes, I had chores but my Mom always made sure there was time to read. My parents were also voracious readers and most of my siblings. Because we lived in a small rural community, I traveled the world in those books. Then when I was twelve, I discovered sewing and the benifits of making my own cloths. Thus began the love affair with fabric. In the mid to late sixties 5.00 would buy enough material for a dress and a skirt. No matter how hard things were (and believe me they were) my Dad could always come up with a 5.00 so that his "baby" could have a new outfit. From that meager start, the legend grew to a major stash. I consider myself the Will Rogers of fabric stores. I never met one I didn't like!!
