I didn't even know what a Chatelaine was so I looked it up and found that it was something similar to a buckle or brooch that had 5 or more chains hanging from it with a sewing tool on each one. The site I looked at said that they were very popular in Europe in the 1800's. They were a status symbol---the fancier and the more chains, the wealthier the wearer. Is this what you are talking about? Sorry, I don't know how to pm this.
