There are tons and tons of free charm squares patterns out there, for everything from tote bags to quilts to table runners, etc. etc. I have a large container full of charm squares, and every now and again I get out a pack and improvise something quickly. They are fun to use and are already color coordinated, so you can make a small project in a hurry!! Just experiment...since they are so inexpensive you can make whatever you need and not cut into your expensive yardage.
