I need your advice ladies and gentlemen. On impulse I just bought two packs of 5 inch Moda Wildflowers Serenade pre-cut squares. I think they're called charm squares, but I could be wrong as I'm still learning all the terms.

In a week or two I expect a package to turn up with 40 squares. I don't really have any idea of what to do with them, or even how big a quilt top I can make.

Can you offer me some suggestions or links to patterns. The colours are grown up colours so I wouldn't be aiming to make a cot quilt.

Sometimes hitting that 'buy' button is just too easy.

Go to the moda bake shop web site. They have many patterns you can use.

Here is one example.

There are tons and tons of free charm squares patterns out there, for everything from tote bags to quilts to table runners, etc. etc. I have a large container full of charm squares, and every now and again I get out a pack and improvise something quickly. They are fun to use and are already color coordinated, so you can make a small project in a hurry!! Just experiment...since they are so inexpensive you can make whatever you need and not cut into your expensive yardage.
