I have grown flowers and vegetable very successfully in containers... Did you know that cucumbers, zucchini and pumpkins can be grown in containers and then you run strings up and securely fasten them, and they will attach to the strings and the vines will hold them upright? It is great if you can place the containers next to a fence or the house. One year my whole patio 15X15 ft was solid veggie containers with just a small walkway winding through them LOL We even had corn growing in buckets :wink: I found some shallow troughs and we grew green onions, baby carrots and radishes in them.
We just had to water more frequently than if they were in the ground. Adding those water absorbing crystals to the soil really helped keep them from drying out so quickly, too.
