if i didn't trust the quilt shops out there i don't think i could get by... i purchase the majority of my fabrics on line and have had very good luck doing so. it enables me to locate fabrics not available in my area broadens the possibilities. if you go to the 'fabshophop' you will find a list of about 180 different quilt shops...all unique and i think the more choices you have the better your choices. so, jump in, if you see a fabric on line you think you will love, buy it, chances are you will love it. That being said...i do stick with fabric manufacturers/designers i know so i know what kind of fabric i'm going to get...if you but Michael Miller/ Benartex/free spirit...ect. you are going to receive good quality fabrics, regardless where you find them or the cost. shop around, don't limit yourself to what you can touch...you limit yourself sooooo much.
