QWC that is awsome. so you chose the hard way of quilting like me? 2/13 of the way done quilting. not counting between the rows. prob should do that at the same time, but i'm not.
or maybe i should. spread out the boring work, right? and i have a tiny pair of sissors that occ i use to pull my needle thru the material, if it gets stuck cause of the thickness.

did you make 4.5 in blocks? laying on the table they look bigger.

Congratulations Lesley!!!!!! That is so cool! It's not hard for us to see why you won and now the rest of the folks can see your wonderful quilt. Great prize too!! You can never have enough machines.

Way to go girls on finishing up your DJs! Waiting for pics! I finished my DJ like Lesley did also. Worked good for me.

QWC lovely quilt. I don't blame you waiting for cooler weather to get on with it. I am waiting for my DH to clear his rubbish (sorry work) from the dining table. Everyday I ask and everyday he says yes, but it just gets worse and worse. LOL!!

They do look bigger, don't they? I think it's the sashing that's the same fabric as the background of all the blocks making them look bigger. There were times that I was wishing they were 12" blocks. The top is hand pieced, too. That Papa's Star was something else - I did that first before anyother block. I figured if I could manage that one, I was good to go with the rest of the quilt!!! Here are a couple of photos of the quilting. Maybe that will put it into perspective.

QWC....you are amazing! When I started my DJ I thought there was no way in the world I could do Papa's Star, so I saved it til the very last block. Think it came out pretty cute, though.

Thank you for showing a close-up of your quilting....it looks wonderful!! Can't wait to see the finished product!!

kathy, thank you for sharing. it is beautiful. absolutely stunning. the finger that catches the needle on the bottom side is sore today. the pain of quilting. luv it.

I did it last too - the thought of getting 17 pieces in that middle square inch just daunted me no end, but it went together better than I thought it would.
