Thank you so much Jenniky! PP is such a challenge with all the paper in the way and I try to match up the stitching line, sometimes I get lucky
I can't wait to see what you do with this block. You have been very creative with all the others and I look forward to seeing what you do next!

Here is my August BOM> I decided to shrink the block to use in my 368 block project (linkedin my signature) and it shows, lol. doing group paper piecing like that is even harder and shows EVERY mistake at the smaller size.

Wnen i did the quilting for the QAYG style of my project I didnt like the initial stitch in the ditch - because i missed the ditch several times. So, I added a decorative feather stitch to the rays. Now, I rather like it. I enjoy the less perfect blocks I so often wind up with. It will be enjoyed for years to come.

    Thanks for the inspiration!

What a pretty combination of color's & fabric's you have chosen to put together for you August 2012 Calendar BOM!! I love your feather stitching around the yellow rays. It really sets them off. I also love polka dot fabric of all kinds. What a clever block you have made to fit in with your project. Thank you so much for sharing with all of us today!!

This one was fun! I love Paper Piecing, but I would not do a whole quilt with this block! One was enough..

missgigglewings..............I love how your Exploding Star block for August 2012, turned out too!! The batik fabric in the center is very pretty & your other fabric's go so well with it. What great choices. I also thought it was a fun block to make, but like you I don't think I would want to make a whole quilt with just this one block. It would be a work of art, but to much work for me!! Thank you for sharing with all of us today.

Oh, practice is so important. This BOM is the first and only time I have ever done this technique. I really need practice. I call this English paper torture. Name: P1010680.jpg

Carol.........What an excellent paper pieced block for your first try!! I am so proud of you for trying & making such a nice block. I promise you that the more you try this method, the more you are going to like it!! When I tried my first one I thought what a disaster, but stayed with it & now I prefer pp'ing over any other methed. Thank you for sharing your wonderful block with all of us today. Nice Work.

Jennily............I just love your finished August block for the 2012 BOM Calendar project. I just read you new instruction's for the glue method & it sounds really good. You are presenting such a wonderful lesson in QAYG quilting & I know that we all enjoy it so much. I haven't started mine yet, but I am getting anxious to do so. Thank you for all of your terrific lesson's & thank you for sharing your beautiful August block.
