Sunliten, I use exactly the same method, although my strip just has that red light that shines. I went to great lengths to find a iron that doesn't have an automatic shut off switch so I need to guard against the Senior Moments. Since everything is hooked into the same strip I know that if my sewing machine light isn't on everything is off.

Daylight Savings Time is kicking my caboose! After doing a little laundry, vacuuming, and tidying the kitchen, this chick is ready for a nap! Hope to sew some later. While starting to assemble stars yesterday, I got sidetracked by starting a string quilt with strings being leaders and Enders . Got way more string blocks done and not one star! I'm a mess....
