this runner will be cool, can't wait to see the finished product. Nice fabric choices.

Good Morning everybody. Pancakes and eggs are now being served in the dining car. Just 3 hour and 15 minutes to wait!

Can't decide. I had decided on the blue/brown set then found the purple/green/brown.

    Default Week 2

There has been discussion on the thread this past week about size of prints. Now you can see why I wanted you to choose small prints.

This week you will make HST blocks from B and D – 24 HST that will measure 2-1/2” square. When I went to edit the picture taken of my B and D fabrics, the picture had whisked away into nether space and cannot find it. So these pictures are from another mystery. I cut my strips at 3” wide to give myself a bit of wiggle room, and then trim after pressing. Or cut at 2-7/8” as the quilt police teaches.

After cutting WOF strips at 3” wide, one from each of B and D fabrics, sub-cut into a total of 12 squares of each color that measure 3” square.

On each wrong side of the lightest squares, mark stitching lines. I have a little tool that has a line down the center of a ½” strip of clear plastic. I place the line on the plastic, corner to corner, and mark a line on each side. Sew on each line. If you don’t have this, place a ruler corner to corner and draw a line. Sew a Ό” seam away from the line. Cut corner to corner between the sewn lines and press, making 24 HSTs. Trim as needed to measure 2-1/2” square.

You will be using B and D again.

From the C fabric, cut 24 pieces that measure 4-1/2” x 2-1/2” and set aside.

Yes, I'm early and so are you. I didn't expect the mystery post for another hour. I am glad. I'm moving my computer to another area and wanted to wait for your post before moving it. Now I need to figure which fabrics in the new set will be b and c. I think I might have to add some white, too. Maybe I'll make both.

I have decided to sew along after all. I will be doing it scrappy. I need to go back and look at the order of your prints and their color value.

Thanks for the great mysteries and the wonderful way you write your directions so any level of sewer may participate. .

Ok, three early risers! Happy sewing, everyone.

Sunlite I've had my 3 cups and now need to get something done around here. One of those mornings when I woke up at 6:15 and knew I wouldn't get back to sleep.

Jan I still vote for the darks you posted early this morning. Or make both. LOL

Retired and others making scrappy, can't wait to see how they turn out.

I think you best stop looking, or you will end up with doing several, lol. But then, keep looking, it great therapy and a way to use up what you have around, lol.
