I guess I should post something once in a while!
Here are some blocks from before the break
b-12 a-3
and the tri-s
br-1 tr-1 tr-3
The tri-s are wonkier than I'd like - they are EPP (English paper pieced) so I can't
trim them - but I think they'll be better once they're whip stitched to the solid
triangles.
The triangles are not really smaller than my blocks, that's just the way they
were saved.

oops - I guess this weeks blocks got posted in the above message. Those are a-7, a-9, and a-11.
I'm a bit behind since I caved in and started a second set of blocks. These will be all blues -
and many will feature fussy cuts!

Hi everyone! I have a big smile on my face from seeing all the blocks and reading all of your posts - the longs and the shorts - LOL! The blocks are gorgeous!
Life is in the way of me sewing. After 3 years our house finally has a "sold" sign in the front yard. I am busy packing up a 4 bedroom, 5 garage-stall house that I have lived in for 22+ years. Needless to say, there is a lot of "stuff". I will not being sewing on my DJ until we are in a new house and my machines and fabric are unpacked. I'm abandoning most of the furniture but none of my machines or fabric! :-) I am so glad to be a part of your group! I'll defin3tely play catch up when I'm all settled.

I finished the Week 7 blocks last night. The center top row was machine applique. The other top ones were hand applique. The center row were done with my new skill of paper piecing On the bottom row, the points sections were paper pieced and the remainder of the block was standard pieced. When downloading the pics from the camera, the photo software was confused about the red and white A9.. it was trying to autofix the red eyes

Well I got up and in my sewing room first thing this morning and I'm guessing Jane doesn't like me today. Maybe I was away from her too long, but I screwed up two blocks already! They look horrible! I think maybe Jane and I should separate today an I will Ty again tomorrow lol. Guess I can work on an appliqué project today so that it's not a total loss.

I loved working on this block! I used a different method than I usually do with applique and liked doing something different. I traced the shape onto the paper side of freezer paper, ironed it on the fabric, then sewed on the line, pulled the paper off and trimmed 1/4" away from the line. Then needle turn with the sewing line going under so as not to be seen. I just love the shape of the applique and the overall look of this block.
