oh my Lyn no stash we will have to convert your way of thinking although I do remember making my son his first quilt and when I finished it threw away the leftover fabric, cause I didn't know what to do with it that was over 25 years ago and now I can't throw out a tiny square, as it may come in handy for something

Good Morning Y'all! I love checking in each morning and seeing everyone's progress.
Beautiful blocks y'all! Lyn Hut, oh how I wish I didn't have a stash sometimes. I love the process of selecting but, I can't seem to place my scraps on the free table at Guild. I hang onto them. Forever and ever. LOL.
As for settings, I recently made a quilt with 180 flying geese so, I am trying to avoid the flying geese sashing but that's what I want. Does that make sense? So I'm considering scrappy strings or squares on point like an irish chain, or even just offsetting the blocks by half a block so they wobble up and down or side to side. Or even background sashing with scrappy mini stars on the corner stones. Whichever one, this is going to be one of the largest quilts I have ever made.

Okay, my gears are grinding overtime this morning. I think I've had too much coffee. So I decided to try the mini star sash approach. Avoiding flying geese. I am going with this. The reason I am thinking of it ahead of time is so I can cut out the pieces and in December simply sew the components together. What do y'all think? I tried to get 4 stars that were unrelated to meld together.

Thanks toverly for your comments, I lke you little stars in your stash I was thinking that for one of my other quilts and was not sure how to do it. How big are the block you are doing? My block are 12" by the time I do my 50 blocks it is going to be 6 blocks across and 8 blocks down it is going to be 72"x96" by the time I add the border 84"x108" that leaving 2 stars for pillow casers, I have to stop my self from trying to work this out till the end, the other day I layed out all my completed blocks on my bed a left them there all day to see if any other ideas come to mind, packed them up and told myself it will come to me later.
