When does the next train ride start. I would love to do a quilt along. If the train isn't heading out soon does anyone know of a quilt along I could join for 2019

I'm looking forward to the next one also. There is a Gypsy Wife quiltalong starting on facebook the first of February. You have to purchase the book, but it's fun looking.

I'm looking forward to the next train ride also, but would like more info about the Gypsy Wife quiltalong on Facebook. Where is it posted? What group? How can someone join? Myself & a couple of other quilters would like to join in.

Cindy60545, the group is titled, Gypsy Wife quilt along 2019 on Facebook. You request to join the group, mine was immediately approved. They just want to make certain you're a quilter. Everyone has to purchase the pattern, no patterns are going to be given out. It starts February 2 and works like a BOM. So far there are people from 42 states and 10 countries. Come join in, it's all free except for purchasing the pattern.

That’s up to Judy (the lady who started this thread) & when I last asked near the end of this quilt along train ride she said it wouldn’t be for awhile, I’m assuming at least a few months. She does this all on her own without any recompense & there’s no pattern to buy so it’s really just great of her to do. She’s done all 20 trains I’m 99% sure. You can pm her and ask or just continue to lurk on the catagory where you found this train to see if anyone else adds one. There was a discussion started on other BOM’s or possible mystery quilts started 2-3 weeks ago titled “BOM 2019?” under just the main catagory that people have listed other possibilities like the Bonnie Hunter one that started the day after Thanksgiving. You may check there. Good luck!

My top is finished! It is 68” by 78” and will be given to my church quilting group to finish. Most, if not all, of the fabrics were either donated or from my DMIL’s stash. I added a light colored border all around to get it to the correct church quilting size.

Love the flying geese all around, Connie. That made it a perfect size. I keep looking at mine thinking one day I will quilt it but I may borrow your idea and add geese. Thank you. Good job.

Love the FG border, I've been considering doing the same with mine - just not sure how it would look. So it's very nice to get to see your quilt!
My name is Cathy - and I'm addicted to old sewing machines and their attachments.

I finished this last year but just now am trying to learn to post a picture again! I used fleece for the backing as the charity in Flagstaff, AZ that I give it to the lady that arranges our quilt days likes us to use it and therefore it doesn't have warm and natural batting that I usually use. The fleece makes it a bit thiner but it also makes it more flopy but it all good.

    It's still beautiful. So colorful!
Blessed are the quilters, for they are the piecemakers.

Such a bright and happy quilt! So you used fleece and not batting? That would be a great choice for warmer climates.

I follow the amazing Pat Sloan who posts quilt a longs for free. She has started 2 but you can catch up, print the patterns, and work at your own pace. Many lovely pieces are posted. No purchases are required. Pat also did the Splendid Sampler (with others). The first 100 blocks and 2nd 20 were free. I'm a fan and besos to paintmejudy!
