Lots of sewing and trimming (and trimming and trimming...) but I got my 96 blocks done--Whew!

Not great photos, but you get the idea.

Cindy, clue one had (24) 4 patch blocks and clue 2 makes (24) half square triangles as written. So, if you made (96) 4 patch blocks, you will need 96 half square triangle blocks. You will need 48 light and 48 medium/bright squares to make 96 half square triangles, if I am not mistaken.
Then when you sew the 96 of each into groups of 4 like Judy's pic shows of clue 2, you will end up with 48 8.5" blocks.

I wound up with 48-not 96 blocks--made 96 4-patches and 96 HSTs--48 finished blocks.

Thanks! I guess my brain was working faster than my typing! If I cut 48 5" blocks, make them HST, that would give me 96 HST blocks, put the new block together as stated & it becomes 48 new blocks. Got it! Haven't cut them yet, as I have a rush show quilt that has to go! Got it all cut out today, sew it together tomorrow & get it on the longarm Monday. That's going to be the time consuming part! But, never fear, I'll be caught up by Saturday!

I missed the train. Found the thread when the first clue was posted but then got the creeping crud. A solid week of awfulness, the good news is I lost nine pounds in six days. Well come to think of it, that wasn't the good news, I think that was the bad news. Anyway, when I got back, thought it was really strange that I had nothing in my inbox from this thread, given the people who participate, I knew it couldn't be right. Well somehow I didn't subscribe. So I will be catching up in a lot of ways. Fantastic blocks already posted. Love the fabric choices.
