Elle your quilt is going to be beautiful.
Bigger is definitely easier on this one! I'm doing 10" blocks by hand using freezer paper. I do mine a bit differently though - I trace the pattern onto the paper side - iron the shiny side to wrong side of fabric and baste - then stitch to background - cut back away and remove basting and paper. Hope this is at least a little bit helpful!Originally Posted by TOOMANYUFO'S
Thanks for all of your help. I will try one block by hand to see how it comes out. I may enlarge mine, not sure. I think the bigger may be easier?Elle your quilt is going to be beautiful.

I forgot to say when I do my freezer paper method I cut the back out and remove the paper. quite important if you are making a quilt and not a wall hanging.

Elle, I think that will look fabulous! I love the idea of the extra color in those bits. Mine will just be trapunto. I'm not worried about you getting them done..you are one speedy girl, you'll probably bring home the completed set from holiday and Lesley will bring home her completed quilt!

Your hearts are beautiful, Elle. I, like Patti, am going to do trapunto in my setting triangles (at least I hope to. I have never done it before but trust that by following Patti's tutorial on it I will be able to accomplish it.) I just got some water soluble thread yesterday, so am hoping to give it a try this afternoon.

Elle, just make sure you don't have the final stitches in it when Terri gets there....you could switch off and work on your Jane for a little while to delay the finishing of the AOTH until AFTER Terri is gone...LOL!

huh ha, thats a plan, got to thwart them somehow, although a not finished quilt might not be sufficient, you know what they are like

Lucky you. :P :P I have never been to the quilt show but I did go to the Quilt Musuem in Paducah and even my DH was overwhelmed by all of the talent on display. There was only 1 quilt shop that was open in Paducah and I went in there. Small world; the quilt shop is owned by the sister of the owner of my LQS.Originally Posted by Shemjo
Judy, that border print is nice! I am going to Paducah tomorrow for the quilt show and will be looking for batiks for my AOTH.
