I would hate it if you made yards of the narrow borders and then that happened.
I am making 10" blocks. Thank you for catching my error. I looked at the cutting chart and Aie cut her strips 1 1/2" wide and I added for shrinkage and cut mine 2 1/2" wide. I need a finished 1 1/2" border. I didn't have any shrinkage in the width, so I will cut my narrow borders 2" wide. Is that what you did?
Losie, you can make your border any width you want. Just remember to make the plain sashing strips that go between Blocks #1 & #2, #5 & #6, #31 & #32, and #35 & #36, plus those on the sides that border the 4 corners the very same width. I made the mistake of thinking that Lesley's hearts were 2 1/2" wide & forgot to make the border as wide. Sooooo, I drew up my own curly wurly sashing strip design.
Kathy, I want to sort out the heart problem - when I drew it out so that it could be done as a pdf here (so sorry, can't remember who did it, I just put it on a 2.5in background to give her a way of registering in order to get the pdf to come out the right size, but it fits perfectly into 2in, so that it will be 1.5in finished - just don't cut the fabric so wide, or trim off before putting between the blocks.
I remember, but at the time, my mind was taking a nap, so I was on my for thinking - very dangerous! I was too far into the curlies, so I just kept on doing the 1 1/2" curlies. I think it will look fine. I will know by lunch today!!! I got all the blocks photographed, cropped and are ready to post. I have decided that Block #33 is the most favorite! Here it is!!!
love those colors

The corners will be on the diagonal. However. I made an alteration to her heart. It's just a small one, but you'll have to wait until I get them sewn on before I show you.

But in the mist of all this I did finish a quilt this weekend for my sister’s birthday. I wanted to show my favorite group of ladies. I have to finish one other quilt before I can get back to AOTH it’s for my nephew. (I already missed his birthday!) Hopefully in a few weeks I will be back with a vengeance. This is the link to my post for my sister’s quilt.

I wondered if any of you had seen this...http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-151139-1.htm. This is how I'm planning to quilt my AOTH since I use my DSM. I' m planning to get started really soon on that part! I had figured it out, but its nice to see someone else really doing it that way.

That looks good, I may use that method at some point, but most likely I will be renting a LA to finish my AOTH. I just have no clue how to quilt it!! I though of stippling or swirls on the background, but some blocks have almost no background showing. So I am still thinking or should I say waiting to cheat, lol.

I saw this post yesterday.
The QAYG is something I try in my sewing machine family, because nobody does in my country services to LA (unfortunately for me! I do not like to do the quilting! LOL!)
But first I should define how each block quilter!
Hugs to all!

Candi...I'm going to "wing it"....just decide as I go along. I know that I'll stitch around all the applique pieces and I think will echo some blocks, swirly in some blocks, heart filler in other...have you checked out the "fillers" on Leah Day's blog? I think its Daystyle designs...wait, I'll find the site for you..

Here is the link http://freemotionquilting.blogspot.c...on-filler.html I love her blog and look at her stuff for inspiration all the time!
