The finished block can be deceiving. Depending on your color choices-- they could be going either way. My opinion is they are going away from the large solid triangle.

That's my instinct also. If the birds are patterned after geese, for example, there would be a triangle formation with a single bird at the fore, which would point them away from the large triangle. Thanks for responding.

After much thought I am posting this. It was while I was downloading and reviewing the pics I saw how badly my points looked on the Birds in the Air block. Can't sew late at nite!
As we speak the block is ripped apart and I am not able to salvage so will make another.

Love your basket and the fabric! I liked the birds in the air also, but we have to please ourselves. Unless we're only able to do so when beating ourselves up. LOL

wvdek...Don't be so hard on yourself. Your points look alot better than mine. Just enjoy the process.

am having a bit of trouble on #7 but will get it done. I am in awe of the different fabrics I guess that is the wonderful thing about quilting that they all look delicious. This quilt sure is giving me some kind of experience. Thank you to the one who came up with this challange.

This is part of the Wildflower Serenade ll fabric line by Kansas Troubles for Moda fabrics.

Yes, they are little birds....I was thinking of the red for the cardinals that tell us when spring is coming...I couldn't find red birds so I settled on tan birds on red fabric...the blue of course represents the sky...

I was wondering how long it would take someone to see the birds in the Birds in the Air block....you were really paying attention...
You are so clever Darcene!

I have ripped "Birds in th air" so many times it is a total loss. Have to start over if I can ever find the book. I have been to 2 book stores here and they are out and dont know when they will have more. I see one on Ebay for $12.50 but it doesnt say anything about the CD.
