Farmers Wife week 4 Blocks 7&8 photos
#31
Wow they are all beautiful, my book arrived this week and I am busily trying to sort through fabric while I wait for my Fat Quarters.
I have made the first 4 blocks and will post pictures as soon as I have caught up (maybe Saturday) woo hoo

Good Morning! Finally #7 is the correct size!! Woo hoo!!
I think #8 fabrics are funny looking but I am committed to using whatever I pull out of that paper bag!
They look so wrinkled but that's from carrying them in my bag to work so I can scan them.

I noticed your bird fabric immediately also, but even more important, I love your block 8 ... the basket fabric is perfection.

I was really checking your seams and points-- I was offered a job by the Quilt Police and told them I would think about it ;-). I want you to know I had to pick up my laptop and bring it closer to see the birds. My eye-sight is really going. Time to get new glasses!
I think I could live with you being a member of the squad...you would be gentle with your suggestions...not at all a nasty judgmental put down artist.
I was not happy with block seven-but if I re-do it how will I know that my work is improving over the next year as we work along on this project.....
I hear you about needing new eyeglasses....my eyesight has changed quite a lot in the last six months or so....time to make an appointment, but....fabric or new eyeglasses---what is a quilter to do?? I use the zoom feature on the toolbar a lot these days... ;-)

I think your blocks are great ! I'm teaching a class next month and my former students warn all the newbies to make sure they bring their seam rippers!! I am Bad!! I will make them rip it out if the points or intersections don't line up.

Please permit me a dumb question that I've been pondering for a while. In the Birds in the Air block, are the "birds" the small triangles that contrast with the large triangles or are the "birds" the ones that are the same as the large triangles? In other words, are the "birds" going in the direction that the large triangles point or the opposite?
Inquiring minds want to know.
