I hope this helps anyone that has a problem with this type of joining. I only remove the paper in the area of the seam I am sewing. that helps with keeping the bulk down and I also press seams open when they won't cooperate.
With right sides together place pin thru point of the square to the closed "V" of the main section
align the corner points and sides to make sure they are squared and straight.. stitch from the outside edge to the end of the line do not go over it...pivot around...sew a few stitches...remove from machine.
Clip the seam at the "V" to where you ended the stitching on an angle to just inside the point leaving one or two threads... Do NOT go past it.
finger press the seam open...swing the square around so that you can align the other side for sewing...pin the points then fold the piece so it lays flat and you can see where the other seam ended.
sew from the outside edge to the ended seam then pivot around sew a few more stitches remove from machine...finger press the seam ...turn the piece over and it should be nice and flat.

Yes I am very proud of my Dragonfly's. I finally took a class for my FMQ.
Thanks Ya'll
Even without the photos great directions! Thanks. Since I'm through with these baby quilts I git right on these blocks. First Eastertide & Ella's Star then Doe & Darts & Elsie's Favorite.

Tomorrow I'm heading over to my friend Elaine's house to get some perenials. Like quilters, gardners are so generous. As a thank you she's going to get this little 6 x 20 wall hanging for her kitchen/dining room. The pattern is from "Patchabilites" a designer from Iowa not too far from where I live. Julie didn't have the birdhouse in. I thought it looked a little drab so put the birdhouse in amongst the hollyhocks. There's a couple of little bee buttons on the flowers in case you can't see them.

Oh OKSGlad ... that's a charming little quilt/wall hanging! I'm drooling over the hollyhocks and ITA the birdhouse just sets it off beautifully. Do hope that one or both of you have some hollyhocks to enjoy!!! They just go with farms!!!
Plant trading can be oh so much fun ... and woudln't we all love to sneak in and steal from QNSue's gardens???

If some one would want a start of my garden flowers, I would probably "gift" them as I have in the past. And as other gardeners have gifted me.
Even Susan, although her dh mows them off or throws them away. This he has done repeatedly.
I have been having fun doing the "fabhopshop" every month since last August; have won $10.00 from three different shops in different months and a yard each of four different fabrics last month (March). Did not look at the search until last night so score was lower than usual. It passes time by in my room, Love to see all the quilt shops and their latest thing they are doing. Wishing I had the extra $$$$$ to spend. Oh, well, I can live without it and try to use what I need to do in my quilt room.
