I remember when Dad bought his first "crimper" (that's what we MW'ers called it) He pulled it behind the sickle mower. Helped the hay dry faster, too, especially if there was any red clover in the hay mix. Here's a pic of the type my son uses to cut our hay now. The long red arm pivots and swings out of the way when mowing, cuts a 13' swath compared to the 6' the sickle mower cut.
Wow, we city gals learn a lot from you country gals!

QNS another set of beautiful blocks. I showed DH and he said "wow" which is a speech from him LOL. They are fantastic. And like Jeanie said, us city gals are getting a real education. Thank you!

Your welcome; its a bit of family history included since it will go to our only grandson who is three years old now. From my "chuck wagon" recipe asked for is in discussion pages of QB. The challenge will be to get story down into written form that goes with the quilt.

Thanks everyone for your kind comments. Love QB!!!

Sounds like you are making a real heirloom QNS. Be sure to document it really well, so all of history knows about the quilt and the story behind it. What a treasure for the generations to come.

No fancy font tonight for me. Oh well I have color! I went to make the Arizona block and thought I had seen an Iowa block so choose to do that one instead. I really missed the center cross seam--oh well guess this is the

Nicely done OKSGlad ... and good for you for doing the Iowa block!
I've seen mention of samplers with blocks for every State ... one for you and the ever-so-patriotic DublB to do sometime. (and of course the rest of the USA contingent!

Now, if only I had such a thing as an Ontario block! ... hhmmm? wonder if I could find a PP Trillium block to make?
(and if anyone should have one ... it'd save me a lot of googling some day!!!

I like that you made a block for your state. I think it personalizes your quilt.

oksewglad, what a clever idea. I love your fabrics.

QuiltE,

This is right up your alley. Ontario trees and trilliums.

JanieW ... only one problem, I'm not finding it via that link.
Can you please check to see if it's the correct link? I'm intrigued!
Thanks!
