Carriem, love your block. It's showing as a deep mauve on my screen. Very pretty.
OKSewglad, you're good!! I'm slowly making my way around EQ7; just added BlockBase so it's really a lot of fun. Maybe you can help me here: I take a lot of blocks, re-size them, and print them out as foundation piecing. I've had too many pieces get split and printed on separate pages. I cut them out and tape them together but is there a way to get the pieces intact on a page? (Does this make sense?) Seems I'm missing something when I do "page set up" but I haven't figured it out. Thanks!

BTW...Quilt in a Day has EQ7 on sale with free shipping this weekend. Almost $50 off. I'm considering it but I do so many scrappy quilts it might be hard to capture. Carrie, isn't it fun to see the end in sight? I've been watching all of your additions although I haven't commented on each one. Great job!

Jeanie, there is a way in EQ7 to move and rotate each piece in the foundation printing to save on paper and to get all the whole piece on one page...watch the top of your headings in 'preview' and adjust. Each program can be a challenge for even the 'computer savvy' I am not as good as Oksewglad with EQ7; often 'giving' the problem to dh.
The last block in the PC book looks so hard, I went into Bella-on-line free squares and downloaded the Iowa Star which is much easier way to do that block...why make it so hard to do when there is a simpler way of doing it??? Unless you love Y seams and wanna go that way...I also downloaded the Missouri Star for consideration in the quilt, as a 'sub'. www.bellaonline.com has a neat newsletter and free blocks if you have not visited that site, you may want to take a look.

Jan when you have your Print Foundation Pattern dialog box open, click on Options. On the rt hand side are boxes to check. Make sure that Print as many as fit is unchecked and Separate units is checked. Then go to Preview. Now you can Move the sections around to get on a full piece of paper. When the section is in position go to the Print box and print your piece. Once in a while the whole section is too big to fit on a sheet of paper and then you have to tape.
I have downloaded a pdf maker from the following website and is set as one of my default printers in EQ. When I want to create a pdf of a file I "Print" to the Cute PDF Writer and then save my newly created PDF to a file in Documents.

Hope this helps

The only thing I will contribute to this EQ thing ... by chance can you widen your margins out to give more printing space?
QNSue ... Thanks for the link! I found the Iowa Star and see it is PC sized. However, Missouri, we'd have to re-size ... It's a pretty one and would be fun to do!
Now I wonder if there's anyone who could do that easier than me making a trip to Staples and spending hours getting it to size? ... and still needing to add in the 1/4" seams allowance. Gosh I wonder...............
DublB ... And all your USA blocks are there ... might be some additions to your quilt?

Thanks for the help on EQ, QNS and OK! I only have EQ5, but it gets me by. I was so proud of myself, as I was able to make the jar pattern for this months Calendar BOM. I even printed out the templates. I get confused though in the size of the blocks. If you need a finished 12", do you use the 12" block size or the 12 1/2"? Thanks.

Jeanie, finished block means what it says...if you say 8 it will make the one fourth inch margin for you, so that it finishes as an 8.
QuitE, go to www.quilterscache.com for the 8 inch Missouri star. I think it was GardenGal who used it (mentioned it) on this PC drive or will be posting it in the future PC postings before the trail ends. I sent Olsewglad's pattern for the Maple leaf and the rippppit frog to Carrie, so she has it to forward if you are interested. Or I can...whatever works for you.

QE--margins are preset at .25, but you can get down to .1 on all four sides.
Jeanie--plug in size of finished block so 12"
Here's MO Star as an 8" PDF foundation piecing and rotary cut instructions
