Jeannie, congrats on those beautiful finishes! Both quilts are masterpieces!
Yes Bev, the 30’s blocks are 6”. Didn’t you make this quilt with the group? I love the 6” size! The blocks are so cute.

Thanks everyone. I used a curved ruler on my last quilt I am working on. It went so fast, I could not believe I completed it in 3 days, but I did not have a thread I liked for the border, so I ordered a King Tut from Superior Thread. I have the Superior Thread color cards of their threads. It makes it so easy to pick a color that goes with whatever you are doing. Just like I have the Moda Bella color card that I do the same with for solids. I am so used to doing SITD that takes forever, that I can see a lot more quilts finished with this ruler. I ran the ruler diagonally down the quilt, when it was completed going one direction, I turned it the opposite and went over the whole quilt again. So cool!

Jeanie - I'm so excited that ya have found another way of quilting that works for you!
SBG - I didn't do the 30's FWS. I worked on the Pony Club FWS. It has 8" blocks. I do have another sampler UFO that has 6" blocks. I love both sizes!
Well I had a very busy day. We drove to the DFW area & traded my Sequoia in on a Highlander. I'm bushed!!!!!

Bev - Both of our cars are getting so old, but Joe keeps them running real well. We still like them too. When one or the other, (hopefully not both at the same time) finally cannot be fixed reasonably we will get new. We do not put many miles on our vehicles now that we are older! I know that you put a lot of miles on your cars!

Just checking in with everyone. Hope you are sewing and having fun. I froze Cauliflower and Broccoli this week; the two heads of Cauliflower were giant sized and made 5 1/2 quarts and the broccoli made four quarts. No, we did not raise them, a neighbor did in his greenhouse. Still trying to get into the sewing room, and enjoy some time off all media. So thankful we live in the middle of nowhere that is somewhere over a rainbow.

We are gardening also! We have frozen 20 quart bags of yellow squash. I'm picking green beans every other day. DH is only filling the quart bags half full as that is how much he & I will eat at a time. We are freezing 3 of those bags every time I pick. I started picking the blackeyed peas today. I got about a quarter of a quart bag so I will add to it when I pick again. I'm doing that in the mornings before I start working on sewing machines.

I have been picking my blackberries daily also. I rinse them, roll them in a paper towel to get the water off and lay on a tray to freeze them (that way they stay loose). I have 2 gallon size bags already, and have almost another one almost full. Good year for the blackberries. I have been picking my apricots too. I have made 2 pints of apricot jam in my instant pot, and have another batch in my instant pot as we speak. Also made an apricot crisp (same topping I use on my blackberry crisp) just out of the oven. Our apricots are almost gone, too bad they seem to ripen at the same time. I have two trees and they are suppose to be ripe at different times, however this year the second tree (newer one) did not produce well.
I have zucchini, yellow squash, cucumbers and 1 cherry tomato, 2 reg. tomato, and lettuce growing. Love to grow things!
Too hot the last few days (in the high 80's - we do NOT have an AC as we live 12 miles from the coast) so no sewing. I am working on a border of a quilt I am doing, will post when completed!
