Here are my blocks for Week 45. I had problems with Steps to the Alter, after seeing this picture, I pressed it better, it looks okay now.

Love all the blocks. Anne I like your bright red-when I look at my blocks that's still the color I don't seem to have enough of in my quilt-to-be (or large stack of potholders LOL). Everyone's colors are so nice and your points are so sharp! Love 'em!

Wow I am so inspired. I just received my book in the mail and am participating in a quilt along for this book. Seeing all the completed blocks just motivates me more. Did anyone have a system for deciding the fabric they used to do the blocks?

Welcome, Murphy1! My fabric choosing system was to use up lots of the wide variety of small pieces of fabric in my stash. Of course, as time went along, I had to eventually include just about every quilting fabric I own.

Beautiful blocks ladies! Today was my first full day back in my sewing room since my DH died May 6th. My Mom just headed back home to Iowa last night, and S21 headed off to Colorado for a week w/a friend. So it will be me, myself, & I (along w/my S24 in the evenings after he gets off work) for the next week. Have a pile of donation quilts piled under Lizzie, and my 1st - 3 paying quilts ready to be quilted - so worked on Ms.Lizzie machine quilting today. My FW book is out and I'll get back to cutting templates and selecting fabrics from where I left off back in the beginning of May soon. Most definitely lost the last month with this unexpected turn in my life... But at least it feels different and better than numb to get back to something I enjoy and at least feeling somewhat productive while putting off the inevitable sifting and sorting process ahead.

Glad to see you back auntjo. Hope sewing brings you some distraction and some peace. We've missed you. Looks like you've got a lot of sewing to do. Enjoy your quiet time and when you need a break, come here.
    Peace-Jan

AuntJo, glad to have you back. I know what you are going through. Today is the 10th anniversary of my DH's death and I still miss him. It does get better. Hugs!
