I love the blue swirly fabric. Do you recall the name or maker by any chance?
No, I think I got it from a friend who was cleaning out.

Here is my January Star BOM ... first time doing the BOMs ... I'm excited. I had two fat quarters of this color and decided it would be good to try these colors out :)

Have NO clue what I'm going to do as I did these colors on the spur of the moment. I was thinking of doing a rainbow type quilt ... where each block is a representation of two colors ... not sure yet ... I'm just going to go with what I have ...

Well it sure is beautiful. It makes it look like your star is in outerspace. Very eye catching!

Not as good as yours but was alot of fun trying to figure it out with DD and husband. I am beyone bad with angles and require an intervention when called for. lol

Does anybody know if there is a way to PP this star? I'm not very good at converting regular piecing patterns.

Is the problem your computer or printer? If all else fails, pm me with your address and when the patterns are posted I can make a copy and mail it to you if you'd like. Are you doing the House BOM and the Star BOM?

MommaDorian, this was my first attempt at converting a pattern and only my second attempt at PP. Can't promise this is the correct way but to get yourself started, I started with a 4.5 inch block ( this includes your seam allowance) and broke sections into light, dark, batik by drawing diagonal lines. I printed off a copy of BizzieLizzies beautiful PP star and studied that. The center block I used the 4.5 inch block from quilters cache on learning to PP and just followed that. Does any of this make sense?

I like your star! It looks 3 dimensional. I may have to make a second one like this. Thanks for sharing it!
