Mystery Quilt Train Ride, Jan 7th
#52
I haven't checked on this thread all week, life got in the way for a bit, but I am blown away with all the favorable remarks you guys have left about my mysteries. My little heart is going pitty pat! And so nice to see new faces. I think this is going to be a great ride, with lots of wonderful passengers. See you tomorrow -- remember -- there will be a new thread posted in this section Blocks of the Week and Month, not added to this thread. Can't wait!

I forgot about this. So glad I finally remembered to look in. I get off work early on Fridays. Of course I should be going home and washing dishes and doing some house work/cleaning. But with a train ride starting tomorrow morning I am just going to have to force myself to go home and straighten up the sewing room and play with some fabric, etc. Oh darn, I was so looking forward to the house work (not!) I will be at the station waiting for the train - with dark chocolate - in the morning.

Hi Ladies, I'm posting this on a couple different threads so I can hopefully find the answer quickly. I'm making a qayg baby quilt. First time using this . Someone on the board made a tute and that is what I am using. She said to use a thin flat type batting. I bought this 100 % cotton batting and was wonder if it would work. It is made to put in the microwave. Pellon makes it. The pictures show it is fairly flat and it feels really soft. Looks just right for a baby quilt to me. I'm just not sure. Any answers will be appreciated. Thanks for your time.

It says 100% cotton. No extras. It's extremely soft. That's why I want to use it for the baby quilt. I bought it on clearance at wal-mart. I knew I wasn't going to use it for anything I put it in the microwave. I just don't trust that,no matter what it says. But it looks so soft and is thin enough for the quilt. I trust you ladies more than the label that's why I ask. Thanks Judy for the reply. Hope more will give their opinions. .

Lawsonmugs, it will work just fine. Since it can be used in the microwave, you know it does not have metal in it. Metal and micros don't mix. Be sure you have enough yardage in the bag so you don't run out. I am a long arm quilter, so qayg is greek to me, but battings, I do know about. 100% cotton batting is always soft and pliable. It is when you get to the 80/20 you have a little more stiffness to the batting, but will wash up soft. Hope that helps.
