It was a nightmare, to say the least. Lived here for over 25 years and never had flooding before. Expensive lesson learned.

    Have fun with this block.
Peg, you amaize me! You go through a flood and you want to bless us  I'm glad to see your spirit wasn't damaged. Thank you for the pretty block.

Thanks...I machine applique, so it goes together pretty fast. I added the extra flower so there would be 4 groups of 4 flowers all around.

I've been waiting for your post Lynn. Just knew you'd be the first. Good job. I see you've added the fourth flower. Think I will too.

heh. I am thinking of cutting down all the flowers to three instead of making them all four.

I think 4 flowers look good grouped together, but Bonni is thinking of only using 3 flowers...that would look good, also. Looking forward to seeing that one. I'm in the process of doing a fall applique wall hanging and decided to do this block at the same time...went together really fast. This BOM was my very first attempt at machine applique and I really enjoy doing it...don't know if I could do it the way Bonni and some others do.

It does take me longer but I haven't done much machine applique either. Every time I see people post their machine applique I second guess myself since yours look better. i am still trying to get my points and stuff better. But that's ok. It's a work in progress and nobody's "first" is always how they like it. It does tell me I can do this (pick whichever method to do it by) and that means i can do a second one. :)

It took has let me branch out to do baltimore style blocks and table runners, etc for other swaps. It is TOTALLY been worth it.

Wow....I have been absent from this BOM for a few months....way too busy. But I'll do it all after January.

Peg, I am so sorry to hear about your flood!! Wow!! That must have been horrific. I can't imagine being flooded. If you want to talk earthquakes, however.....

Glad you are fine, and have started to recover. Sending prayers for you and your family. Janice

    October block

Here's my October block. I'm still backtracking and just have April to finish and the inner borders and I'll be caught up.

I am so far behind, I have to catch up from April, since my Dad had his stroke, his passing, and then the hurricane flooding. I have to get my you know what into gear again and get busy. Problem is my heart isn't in quilting right now, I started a halloween wallhanging for my dear Logan, and it's still sitting on my sewing table. Oh well, I'm ahead for next year!

I'm sure hoping 2012 is going to be a better year, 2011 sure has been a doozie! We are expecting a new grandchild in April, so I hope that's the sign of good things to come.

    Best to all
Wishing everyone a joyous and healthy holiday season.

    Peg
