Encourage more to add their opinion by a closing date and then (as our illustrious BOM leader, Sulabug) you get to make the final announcment.

OR

Have two, like we did this year.

Everyone add your comments..................

Hi Sulabug, I have been out of action for awhile and have not caught up with my blocks yet. I do have all the patterns saved to the computer though and intend to get them done in January. I must admit that I am 'Australianizing' my blocks so I am taking longer to get them done. So I will have to find this thread again so I can post pics of them, unless you start a post for completed BOM quilts?
That said I think the idea of a Christmas quilt is great. I would love to have a quilt by next Christmas.
Have loved seeing all the pictures of everyone's blocks, there's going to be some great quilts when they are all finished.

rwquilts 12-09-2011 07:03 AM

White Pine, all I can say is..."Wow! Well done for sure" lOVE YOUR BLOCKS!

I like all these suggestions plus my suggestion from last year: Blocks with State Names i.e. Ohio Star; Arkansas Crossroads, and many others...

SulaBug 12-09-2011 01:11 PM

WOW!! :D I really like all of these great ideas. Please keep letting us all know what you would like.
:D :D :D :D

Whitepine, your blocks look so pretty together. I love your rooster weathervane and the glow from the church windows the most.

I would love to do a butterfly quilt and would also like Christmas blocks or fall/harvest themed blocks. There may not be much interest but a Valentined theme would be kind of neat too-lots of places to personalize.

I would like birds or a nature theme.

Here's all my blocks. Now just have to figure out how to put them all together! :) That will have to wait until after the first of the year. Will be out of town for a while to go be with my daughter and her family - she's having a baby (due on Christmas!) and I'll be busy looking after the other little ones too (age 3 and 1) Merry Christmas to everyone!

KSenn 12-10-2011 09:27 AM

One more thing....Just wanted to say thank you to everyone who worked on making this BOM so much fun for us all! I will be looking forward to whatever the theme for the 2012 BOM is! Thanks especially to SulaBug! See you in the New Year!

Your December block & all 12 of them together, are really wonderful!! :D I will be looking forward to seeing how you end up putting them together in a quilt!! :D I too am getting excited to start the new year's January block. This year has been so much fun & I am so glad that everyone has enjoyed it too. Now, take a little time off & get ready for 2012!!
:D :D :D :D

I'm so far behind, and doubt I'll be able to finish until end on Next year! My shoulder pain still doesn't let me spend much time working on this. I'm a bit bored of using only shades of black and grey. I LOVE watching all of your beautiful and fun blocks. If I get brave to do next year's, I'll do it more like you all did.

I love most of the ideas I've read for next year. When I saw one idea for Christmas blocks, I sat down to see if I could think of 12 possible ideas. Well, in 3 minutes I had 24!! true, some were a bit iffy due to applique and embroider, but most of them I've done in cross stich, which are actually just blocks and half, quarter blocks.

Deecee 12-10-2011 12:32 PM

Beautiful collection KSenn.

rwquilts 12-10-2011 06:07 PM

Hobbykat, your blocks look wonderful all together, there going to make a lovely quilt.

Deecee, love your December house, all wrapped up.

KSenn, your collection is great. I liked how you framed the one house (lower left). It just seems to work well with these blocks.

Whitepine, your blocks are gorgeous and all go very well together. I love the paper pieced pointy pine trees you added to blocks 1 and 2. Would you mind telling me if there is a pattern for block #1? Great job.

Someone had already mentioned, and I second the motion, Dogs and/or Cats would be really fun. Not so easy to paper piece, but I have seen a good number of pp patterns for Dogs and Cats. I would be happy to help research these for you.

Very good and cute, love the button idea.

whitepine 12-13-2011 08:33 AM

Thanks Nicky. I liked those trees too so I added them to all three on the top row. They're supposed to be "in the woods." Here's the site:

Thank you WhitePine! I had not seen that one in my search for houses. Probably because it does not contain the words "house" or "cabin" !! Good find! It's a great pattern.
