This block took me a good portion of TWO days to complete.... a few notes... I pressed the seams open... I DID use the template for the center block (it is not 3 ½" ) after trying unsuccessfully to use the 3 ½" square..... and Hallelujah it does measure approx. 12 ½" square.... but a little squeegied :D

Roma Bauder 11-03-2013 07:04 PM

Thumble great job. I am not good a tri's so I am doing a PP kinda like the pattern. Maybe I will try it when I am not doing anything else...LOLO

Difergie 11-03-2013 07:17 PM

I have finished November's block.! I don't see how people can do miniatures and postage stamp quilts! Saying that I love this block, in retrospect I wish I have used more contrast in my fabrics but NO I am not going to do a do-over....

waiting for last block.....and then a border and voila!

YEAH.... great block!

rural01 11-05-2013 06:23 AM

This is lovely. Hmm, black & white. I absolutely love the combination especially with that little splash of color, it looks so yummy. I think I've just made a new final decision on my next project--it will definitely be something black & white.

rural01 11-05-2013 06:30 AM

I absolutely love what you have done with this quilt, adding the smaller blocks to it. I love your Nov. block. In fact, I just love everything about this. Looking back over this post, I guess I could just simply say I love, love, love it. :-)

Here it is Tuesday already & I didn't get around to posting my block picture until now!! :D Sorry about that. I just love what everyone is doing with their block so far, for November. I hope you are all enjoying putting this one together. Now here's mine!!

djmat 11-06-2013 02:44 AM

pretty blocks!!!!

Difergie 11-06-2013 05:42 AM

Thanks Rural!.....

Elisabrat 11-06-2013 07:40 AM

Wow lots and lots of little pieces in that block. wont it be hard to quilt??? pretty blocks you all are so patient.

Jenniky 11-06-2013 09:10 AM

Loving on everyone's blocks... Now to figure what fabric combinations I want to use. :)

CAS49OR 11-06-2013 01:22 PM

Pretty Sula! I need to figure out how to cut my fabric so I get enough contrast. I'm using the same colors again, and they all look like batik.

btw if anyone doesn't want to print out the template, it is 3 1/4" square

Jenniky 11-06-2013 06:04 PM

I worked all day on my block and only have three rows pieced so far. Its a really neat block but I have to agree its difficult going working with all the small half blocks. Hopefully I will finish it up tomorrow.

Roma Bauder 11-06-2013 06:10 PM

Sula ... Pretty pretty pretty

November 20 T's

All of the squares finished so far.

Still working on two more that I yet to catch up on. I am thinking of redoing the first four in the Red White and Blue theme. Havent decided what I will do with the four squares I made in the pinks and greens. Still lots of work to do.

Difergie 11-07-2013 06:03 PM

Jenn, you do really good work...love the red white blue ones especially!

thimblebug6000 11-07-2013 06:10 PM

Sula and Jenniky, love your blocks. Did you manage to get yours close to the 12 ½" size.... mine is...but a little push & pull here :p

coastienest 11-07-2013 07:05 PM

You ladies have all done such a great job. My hope is to join in next year in whatever the new project is. Totally enjoying looking at the new blocks each month.

Jenniky 11-08-2013 06:02 AM

Thimble mine was pretty much right on just a tad bit of trimming to square it up. Thank you ladies for your encouraging comments. I look forward as always to see what ever one else does with their blocks. :)

Roma Bauder 11-13-2013 12:50 PM

Jenn....Nice block! I am doing the red white and blue. Cant wait to finish the last block and get it put together.

Oh my, this was tricky. All those itsy-bitsy pieces. I actually hated what I made so I talked myself into making another one. It turned out about 1/2" bigger than it is supposed to be, so I tried to fudge some seams. That didn't work very well. All those crazy points. Consequently, I'm still not happy with this, although I don't know if I can bear to make another one.

Difergie 11-21-2013 02:13 PM

It looks good..I would not do another one...let us hope they take it easy on us in December!

thimblebug6000 11-21-2013 04:18 PM

rural... great block. Remember we'll be putting these blocks into our own quilts so when we put them all together there's some fudge factor in them..... maybe you have a month that's a little shy of the 12½" and that'll even it out :D

CAS49OR 11-22-2013 03:31 PM

Jenniky your block is beautiful. The colors really work with this pattern!

I made a substitute block, and haven't been sewing much all month. I'm feeling better today and went for the Bachelor's Puzzle block pattern I found at Quilter's Cache.

Looking at it posted (from a distance) the four squares are what really sticks out to me. I don't like that. Hopefully, it will blend in better with the other blocks.

thimblebug6000 11-22-2013 05:09 PM

Cas, very pretty .... and those squares are a pretty colour so just make sure to put some more of it in next month or in your border and it will be stunning!

djmat 11-22-2013 10:05 PM

Cas, you sub block is gorgeous! Did you dye the fabric? I love it!

CAS49OR 11-23-2013 03:39 PM

Thanks Thimblebug and Djmat! I do have some of the purple in my other blocks. I purchased all the fabric at Joanne's. Most of it is batik. I think I will maybe make some type of striped bias from all the leftover fabric for a border or sashing to pull it all together.

Rural I like your block, I like the way the beige sort of solid looking fabric offsets the prints. I am going to have the same issue with over-size and under-size blocks and will probably lose some points too.
