frustrated - yes only 18" for A.I know it seems strange when I said this was your focal fabric, but trust me......

dotty oooo we feel your pain. I think all of us have and will be again, with more and more LQSs closing their door. P,S. is Lynnie joining in?

Mary love those colors, and now since you mentioned chocolate, I am thinking red velvet cake. LOL

Jan thanks for the head count, I didn't think there were that many of us already.

Mary, Yes, definitely Red Velvet cake. Your runner will be yummy! Isn't D the lightest where Judy chose white? I love the burgundies. Was considering burgundy and brown for mine but my burgundy was too big of a print so I changed to blue and brown instead. Judy, I see where even more have posted since I did my head count.

Bluebonnets 09-10-2016 12:37 PM

Oh boy, thanks Judy! Looks intriguing and fun! The possibilities... Gotta go stash diving.

Loving the choices so far. They're going to be beautiful!

I think I'll be in the club car, snacking and talking fabric. Bringing oatmeal and chocolate chip cookies.

Yes, Mary, in my last train ride my scanner changed my fabrics from coral to pink! I love coral and burgundy, but do not like pink... and you will find very little pink in my stash! This time I followed Judy's lead and used off white for D, since somebody else suggested its probably the background fabric. Was going to use a darker brown, but figure even if its not the background, white will make my other dark fabrics pop. I think choosing fabrics is the hardest part of these mysteries! I finally got my camera working so can now post colors that are more true than from my scanner.

Blue really great to have you aboard!

kwiltkrazy 09-10-2016 01:20 PM

Jan it was me, I'm the worker bee. but, I'm home for the rest of the weekend. Looking through stash.

Hi, Hope your days off are good. I was just thinking of you. Was looking at your Bedocks recipe. Snooze sent me details on a neat baking pan to use for it. I ordered the pan and it arrived yesterday, and my new toaster oven with convection oven is being delivered Monday. So I will be making Bedocks soon. Also plan to make/can some home made chunky applesauce. Will probably make applesauce Monday and Bedocks Tuesday.

What do you think? These aren't showing up very well, can try to scan them, if you think they would come out clearer.

kwiltkrazy 09-10-2016 02:49 PM

Jan sounds good, send some applesauce my way, or better yet, I'll try some in the dining cart.

AngeliaNR 09-10-2016 03:14 PM

I'm excited to look through my stash. As usual, I'll probably make a big one. :)

Finishing up a few WiPs before I begin this one.

SunlitenSmiles 09-10-2016 03:28 PM

I'm thinking if I don't screw it up I can put both in the club car on Wednesday! Can you scan your fabrics? The pix is small on my screen.

its looking good already. Thanks Judy for doing this again. I missed doing #13 along with everyone else, but then I did it as my Autumn table runner swap. Loved how it turned out. Now to go find my fabrics

I was able to save your pix to my paint program and enlarged them to compare. If you are asking for suggestions here is mine. A= black with bats and pumpkins, B= gold, purple and green print, c=orange tonal, and D= yellow tonal. (Omit the floral.) Use the black spiderweb for sashing and binding. Can you lay them out like this together on your scanner? I'd like to see them in order together and see what Judy thinks. I hope you were "asking" and I'm not overstepping my bounds.

would love to see it.

thanks Jan I agree, didn't know if the yellow fairy frost was light enough. I'll do the binding scrappy, I really like that.

happylab 09-10-2016 05:36 PM

Thank-you Judy for doing another MQ. I excited it will be in batiks. My favorite:thumbup: I will spend tomorrow looking through my stash for fabric. Depending on my fabric selection, will decide my size. I have a tendency of doing the larger projects. Back to my Batik log cabin blocks. Only 64 blocks to go.

I left some peach pie and ice cream for everyone. Hope you like it.

Oh I really, really like it; but I'm anxious to see what Judy thinks since she knows how it will come together. It sure screams Halloween without being gaudy! :)

Just Jan 09-10-2016 06:03 PM

Its a little late for coffee but think I'll have some anyway with that awesome peach pie and ice cream.

Baconbit 09-10-2016 06:28 PM

I may be an observer as this is my first train ride. The trip sounds so exciting and I may jump in and catch up somewhere along the line.

Snooze2978 09-10-2016 06:49 PM

Hey Just Jan, I see you tried those pans, how do you like them? Also chunky applesauce, my kind of applesauce too. I use mine for more than just eating as is............apple crisp, in cake and bread recipes too. More choices with chunky than plain applesauce.

Ripped on Scotch 09-10-2016 07:47 PM

Woohoo another train!!!

whitepine 09-10-2016 08:31 PM

Sooo glad the train came through the Pacific Northwest. I'm jumping on, especially since I missed the last one. I love batiks too and I have some very close to Judy's. So to make things easy, I'm going to use those. Will post later, if my computer holds on for a little longer.

jaba 09-11-2016 03:42 AM

In Florida right now but will jump on the train by next weekend. I need runners for our new house.

Welcome to the train ride and welcome to Florida. Wow, you can make your new runner to match your new house. How fun is that!

Cindy60545 09-11-2016 04:44 AM

Wow! Almost missed the train! Had a function at our American Legion Post yesterday, came home & mowed the yard & didn't check the computer! But, I'm on board now! This looks right up my alley too! Now it's time to go stash diving!

Not yet. Going to get my apples today and will make apple sauce today or tomorrow, depending on how tired I am from grocery shopping. Will make Bedocks probably Tuesday. My new oven comes tomorrow. I'm like a kid waiting for Christmas! What kind of bread do you mean? Like Banana bread or like white bread? I had a wonderful food processor recipe for yeast bread many years ago. Over the years I lost the book it was in. Yesterday, while looking on the internet for something else, I ran across the recipe that someone had posted from her 25-30 year old processor book, and its the same recipe I loved. What's the odds of that?! :)

Snooze2978 09-11-2016 04:51 AM

Just Jan,..............breads like banana bread or zucchini bread. Any bread or cake recipe that takes a type of fruit I'm sure you can substitute apples with. Think I even found a bundt cake recipe using apples. Trying to make use of all those canned apples before they go bad on me. So far after 2 years none have gone bad but always thought there was a time limit on home-made canned goods.

Audrey 09-11-2016 05:04 AM

I just love doing these mystery. Thanks for all you do Judy' excited to get started.

According to the internet home canned applesauce has a shelf life of two to three years if kept in a cool dry place. It keeps longer with less sugar. If stored on an open shelf, you can cut strips of brown paper and wrap them around the jars and secure with a rubber bands, to keep the light out, so it doesn't turn dark over time. Hey, this might be another way to use our fat quarters! LOL Guess if you store it in a cabinet with doors it would be dark enough. But now I ask you, wouldn't fabric with fruit make adorable jar wraps! I use fabric circles on top of my jelly jars for decoration but never thought about wrapping it around the jars! Jar caddies! LOL Seriously, I also read that one woman was using her applesauce after lots longer than that and she said it is fine. I doubt you have to worry yet. As long as its sealed the worst that happens is that it goes dark and loses a bit of flavor. Also saw a recipe online for old fashioned applesauce spice cake that sounded really good. Maybe you could make one and put it in the club car?

paintmejudy 09-11-2016 06:11 AM

So glad to see more returning faces! In fact I was thinking of the four of you yesterday, knew whitepine couldn't make it last time, hoped to see her this trip.

Baconbit, jump in, the waters fun! Just go for it. You'll have a good time.

lawsonmugs 09-11-2016 07:49 AM

I love the Halloween fabrics. The cat and frog one is adorable. Like already said choices are cute but not gaudy.

kwiltkrazy 09-11-2016 07:51 AM

Thanks lawsonmug, I really love halloween themed things.
