Well here are some of mine too. It's on my medium fabric also. I put the yellow around it to show some color. The yellow is a lot brighter.

I've completed my 4-patches too. Now comes the hard part, waiting an entire week for the next clue!

kathryn7887 01-14-2017 03:48 PM

everyone's colors look so great. hopefully I can get caught up tomorrow if the weather holds and I don't get called into work.

paintmejudy 01-14-2017 04:03 PM

All the 4-patch blocks are so pretty. I was hesitant about just posting this little bit, but next week will be lots more, and thought it might be too much for one week.

Great 4-patches everyone! So I changed my mind this morning and found a great border fabric and 1 pieces that go with it for the most part they are flannel so threw them in the wash on hot and dried them and went to work. Here is my new fabric selection sorry the light fabric sort of washed out and 1 of my 4-patches(they are all done).

I got my 4 patches done this afternoon, along with a couple items that needed redone. I got a lot done considering the dark, grey, freezing rain day. It was a good day to sew, or nap but chose to sew..lolo Now to see what next Saturday brings.

Looks like I'm going to have to go shopping. Measured my dark and it was only 29". Second choice didn't really work either (light streaks in dark batik too big and too close to same color as light fabric choice).
I really wanted to get going on this!

happylab 01-14-2017 07:07 PM

Such pretty 4 patches and fabric selection everyone.

i'm having issues with my i-pad and can't figure out how to post pics right now. I have 2 color ways on this project I'm debating on. One fabric has different sewing items on the fabric, then I pulled out 3 different colors in the fabric. The other color selection is blue, black and white colors. I really love this color way. I have enough of this to double the mystery. I was wanting a throw size, but I may have to settle with something in between. I'm leaning towards the blue color. I will post colors when I can figure out how to post a pic again. Happy sewing everyone!

I left cherry filled Pockets with ice cream in the club car with decaf tea and coffee.

Great fabrics! I am starting over with fabric choices since the baby has been confirmed a boy! But I think I will just go ahead and make 2, one for a girl one for a boy! That way I can start right now!

Enjoy your weekend all~

Mary

nancia 01-15-2017 01:02 AM

thought i had 7 or 8 fabrics that all went together to make a boy quilt, and discovered only one was more than a yard! so quick trip out to get 2 new fabrics. the "light" fabric is a farm vehicles block on white bkgrd. the dark is green on green dots, and the medium is yellow. i may sash with either green or red. i never use white! if my fabrics' values are off, but the contrast is there will that still give the effect we're looking for? i think my tractor, etc, print makes the most sense as a focal fabric if there is one. i'll take a picture tomorrow, dh is sound asleep beside me. you know why they say " SOUND ASLEEP"? it's all the sounds they make while sleeping! snoring and the etceteras men are famous for!

Delphina 01-15-2017 04:45 AM

Good morning to all. The train ride is a little bumpy for me. I have company this weekend so I haven't made my blocks. I don't know what WFO means and I couldn't find a clue. So with that said I don't have a clue LOL. I am going to start my blocks later today. I hope you all have wonderful Sunday.

cjsews 01-15-2017 05:11 AM

Delphina I believe it is WOF not WFO. It means cut your fabrics width of fabric or from selvedge to selvedge I have not even picked fabrics for this mystery but am enjoying everyone else's work

Delphina 01-15-2017 10:43 AM

Angelia I picked the same fabric you did for the light

Here's my fabric selection. The top fabric will be my extra boarder. I'm cutting out my stripes after I post this. I'm post my 4-patches next week.

Wow, Belfrybat I love your colors and the brightness! I haven't started my 4 patches yet and now wonder if my colors are going to be too bland. Besides I'm still struggling and vacillating over the borders on the BH mystery quilt. One challenge at a time today.

I have my 24 blocks done. I just started quilting this past October. Those are the smallest squares I have done. I know they are not perfect. I did my best. They are sitting on my med. color fabric. I love all the blocks you are all posting
.

paintmejudy 01-15-2017 04:45 PM

frustrated love your fabrics.

Happy lab love those fabrics, and what a fabulous border you will have

Belfry beautiful bright colors, love them

Carol, I have given up on the BH for now, and I feel no guilt! :D Still do not like it one bit. I had planned on a king, but no way am I going to put all that effort and LA quilting into a quilt I really do not like. Maybe get into all those things started and then put away when something new came along. LOL

Delphinia great fabrics, love them all together, will be soooo pretty.

Ok, everyone, off to feed the mutt, and get myself a sandwich, and then some quality couch time. See you tomorrow.

coopah 01-15-2017 05:07 PM

Love the new color additions! I have been a "dizzy dame" for the last three days (vertigo...not fun...my first prolonged experience with it...yuk), so hope to get caught up this week. There's homemade salsa and Scoops in the club car. Enjoy!

Kassaundra 01-15-2017 06:10 PM

Judy maybe you can rearrange them into a more pleasing to you design. I made many changes to mine and like it better then how mine would have looked w/ her layout w/ my colors.

I made another batch of four patches yesterday for a second, smaller (kid-size) quilt. The orange of the solid is darker than the frog background, though the picture doesn't show it very well.

I decided that I didn't want to get behind on this ride, so here are my clue #1 four patches placed on top of the medium print. I do think I'm going to like this much better than my rendition of BH's...though I love some of those posted by others.

working on mug rug, then hope to get fabric cut out and sewn in the next day or tw!o

Belfrybat 01-16-2017 10:27 AM

Like you choices, Rosemary. Although I'm not good at picking fabric myself, I know what I like in other's choices, and I like yours.

I made a humongous pot of venison stew and cornbread. It's in the club car -- enjoy.

marytoddliz 01-16-2017 11:51 AM

UGH... ever have one of those days! I just made all my 4 patch blocks, for both quilts.... but didn't pay close attention. I sewed the light and medium colors together! So now what do I do, take them apart and hope I have enough fabric to finish or just buy more fabric! UGH... I am sure there is something I can make with 48 3 1/2 blocks half pinks half blues... Back to the drawing board for me~

lawsonmugs 01-16-2017 11:57 AM

Oh Mary so sorry. That's a lot of work. Maybe you can still make the quilt just switch the med. and dark. How about it Judy??? will that work?

I have a couple similar type fabrics that remind me of stuffed olives. Now they may start making me think of eyeballs! :p

Yes, many of those kinds of days... more and more the older I get! Do NOT change your 4-patches. Judy let me switch my light and dark fabrics, so that may be an option for you. Lets see what Judy says. Another option is to find a different "medium" fabric that will be somewhere between the two in your 4-patches. Why don't you post a pix of the 4-patches you have made? I'm going to try to scroll back to see your three fabrics...

I totally agree... waiting is torture! LOL I loved the fast and furious mystery we had just before Christmas and I hope Judy will do more like that. I like your 4-patches and all those that have been posted. There are going to be some great quilts when this is over.

lawsonmugs 01-16-2017 12:47 PM

oh my Karen I love the florals.

paintmejudy 01-16-2017 02:30 PM

marytodd I really feel for you, hate when things like this happen. The only thing I can think of is either wait and see what happens in the next couple weeks, or take them apart. But you are using flannel, I think. And ripping flannel will end up with a lot of your blocks out of shape. Flannel does not like to be ripped apart. You'd have to snip each thread, gently remove the stitch and then what about all those little threads? I'm sorry to say but if it was my fabric and blocks, I would start over.

One suggestion was to use these with a different 3rd fabric, but weren't you planning on making a boy and a girl quilt?
