Adnil458 and Cre8tvlwyr ... Very nice blocks Ladies and beautiful fabrics!
DottyD ... I LOVE IT! Realy love your top! CONGRATS! I can't wait your triangles!
Hello to all! How are you? I hope that very well!
I'm sewing My Dear Jean blocks - G-5. G-6, G-7 and G-8. This week I think that all I have been complicated!
Today I started with G-8. This block has many seams and. So I prepared all parts with English Paper Piecing technique.
But I got to this point that will and see who was "born" a central "hole" (see my photos)!
I had never gone with the hexies, but yes with these diamonds.
This Center can be improved? Are you really a solution?
Or is it a block which in my quilt must "show" with a "middle button"?
It is the only solution that I can think of! Lol!
I appreciate your answers, then it will be a way to improve my technique!
I will make a thread separately also on board, maybe that answers and my case will help others!
Many thanks in advance!
A big hug to all!

Maybe fuse a small piece of green on back side, right side of fabric toward hole?

Nice idea, Adnil458! Thank you!

Actually Gladys, you simply pulled the fabric around the paper too tightly at the point. To me it really looks like you should be able to pull the paper out of the diamonds and put a couple more stitches towards the middle at each seam and the final one or two to pull the entire center together. Also if this doesn't work, once the paper is removed you can take each seam in right next to the existing seam - simply put running stitch along side the ones you have and this would bring it to the point as well. This second way may however disrupt the corner pieces around the lone star. I have fixed stars that way myself.
Good luck!! your work is always great Gladys
.... one week of sewing left before I have to turn in my show quilts. I will be giving a talk at Conejo Valley Quilter's Quilt Show on Sunday the 22nd about Jane.
Happy Sewing!

Hello, Gus!
Thank you very much!
I can fix it! I learned a lot with the help that I received in the other thread and could close the hole.
I think that either it was so bad... but I know that the next can improve!
I'm going to accommodate the rest of the pictures and show them 4 finished blocks!
A big hug!

Well Cindy.... the 22nd came and went ... as you see it is now 5 days later and I am still exhausted and still not gone back to Jane. I should have at the very least taken a picture of her while she was up behind me in the demo area. I had scheduled my talk for 230 the last day of the show. People were doing last minute shopping and buying basket tickets and bottom line - I had only two people and we talked a little but I didnt really give a presentation. I think we were all waiting for others to arrive and I knew the two who did come well so I never really got started. :( all the prep :( ah well... Our show went well. I'm truly glad it's over. I'm determined to get Jane done totally quilted [possibly by hand I keep waffling about that] by the next show in 2015 as well as Affairs of the Heart, Surprisingly Red, and Amelia's Garden. If anyone took a picture of Jane while it was up I will post her. If you go to the guild website our car challenge quilts are posted individually there and other quilts will be posted linked to the home page at the website soon... http://conejovalleyquilters.com/2013...Challenge.html
Here's a picture of the car ... Oh I also bought a crank Jones sewing machine!!! [circa late 1800s] My daughter and her nephews [my three GS] had SEW MUCH FUN making bags on the machines at the 'Sew Cranky' booth!

I will get back to Jane soon.... after some long needed deep cleaning... :(
