Well I haven't the time to get back into this right now, but I thought you all would like to see the blocks I put together last year. I did nine of them.
I'm currently working on flying geese for sashing and some small eight point stars to make the quilt a little larger. Maybe later in the year I'll be able to play catch up! |
I also cut my pieces at least 1/2" larger. I'd rather use a little more fabric to reduce ripping and stress!
|
Kaely - thanks for show us your blocks. They are wonderful. Come back any time, we will be here all year doing these blocks.
|
Kaely I love the flying geese!!
I have started California...I have had to re do it twice because I had the orientation wrong. This one will be interesting lol. Hope everyone has a great Friday!!! T |
Love those geese! But wow, do they ever take a long time to make. I'm working on a quilt that calls for 160 and it is taking forever. (Or so it seems). It's a terrific idea instead of solid sashing.

And on the last day of January, here's my Arkansas block. We used a saw in our childhood that read: You never saw
A saw That sawed like the ARKANSAS Saw. Here's all four red, white, and blue stars for the month: |
Kaelyn, love your blocks. Are you also pp your Flying Geese? If I have more than 2 geese in a row they start to look drunken unless I pp them. Very ambitious--that's a LOT of geese. It will be striking.
QNS, those blocks are outstanding! I love the patriotic colors, so fitting for the pattern. Awesome job! |
Great job QNS getting your blocks done before the end of the month!
If others would like to post their first 4 together, that is a great idea...we can post them at the end of each month and watch our quilts grow. :) |
