Florence, I had not noticed the circles in your focus fabric. So pretty, and great fussy cutting!

Wow, lots of fabulous fussy cut blocks this morning! They are all great. Not to say the others aren't great, too! Good job, everyone. I've 2 blocks to make today, hope I can catch up.

Thanks, Pam. Now that I am more experienced with these, I cut all the fabrics in advance for each block, and label the little stacks as Carol suggests. Then I go through the numbers for both sections. I glue on all the A & B #1 pieces, then sew on all the #2 pieces, all the #3 pieces, etc., assembly line style. It goes much faster this way!

PokerDiva 06-24-2012 09:47 AM

Well Nicky, I am speechless. Your array of blocks are wonderful.

Wow! Montana seems to have brought out the best in everyone. Such great cutting, circles, jewelry, moons. I have to go back an look at them all again. I had trouble finding a focus in my fabrics but made do. Nicky, your stars are spectacular!

I know I've already had John Denver doing a song, but he sure loved those mountains. "Wild Montana Skies"

Another beauty, WhitePine! Have you posted your entire collection lately? I would love to see it.

whitepine 06-26-2012 06:45 AM

Thanks Nicky, I posted some after Minnesota so will probably wait till I get a few more new ones. Have you named yours yet? How about Wild California Skies. :) :)

Has anybody named theirs yet?

WhitePine, I was able to find these by clicking on your name. They are just gorgeous.

PokerDiva 06-26-2012 07:13 AM

That is a good name for Nicky's. I have named mine "What the Heck Were You Thinking?".

Hey WhitePine, That is a good name! I had not thought of a name yet.

My houses quilt from last year is almost done. I am now putting on the third border and then need to FMQ. It is called "Gimme Shelter". I thought you as a music lover would appreciate this!

nickylsf: your stars are looking so pretty. I like the look the overlap gives; gives dimension.

ckcowl - Nebraska is beautiful. Your blues are so soothing! The white makes it pop. Excellent.

pamesue 06-29-2012 05:31 PM

Ladies,

you all have inspired me to make these blocks...I ordered the book (used) should be here any second now and I ordered the download... You all will be done when I will be half way done....but that's ok...

I will be doing scrappy stars....not sure what background color yet...

all of the blocks you guys have done are awesome!

PokerDiva 06-30-2012 04:22 AM

Welcome Pam. So glad you will be joining us. And not to worry about being behind. There are people all along the way. Can't wait to see your stars.

I only just found this, and I've got to say how impressed I am with all I see here. It is inspiring!

Patricia Faye 07-01-2012 04:23 AM

Mona Lisa, your Nevada block is so pretty. Love the butterfly print (that's what it is, right?). It really makes the block pop! WTG.

Morning ladies. Here is my #27 Nebraska. I don't know why but the points on this one just gave me fits.

Patricia Faye 07-01-2012 04:48 AM

Poker Diva, you'd never know you had problem with the points. This is so pretty. Love the colors!

Today's Nebraska and my Missouri, which I must admit, is not my best choice of colors, as the dark purple and the dark green get lost in the shuffle. But when it is all put together, no one will ever notice!

PokerDiva 07-01-2012 09:29 AM

I think they look preety darn good Judy.

Here is my Nevada, the ones already posted are so pretty. Does anyone know how they are going to finish their quilt? I guess we have a few more months to think about it.

paintmejudy 07-01-2012 11:27 AM

Klgreen - I am going to set my blocks on point, with setting triangles to fill the sides, no sashing, so it will look like the stars are floating. This is why I make my blocks without any of the special corner pieces she uses sometimes, and like the two-color corner with Nevada. Any one else know what they are going to do?
