All your blocks I have seen are beautiful. Even with the 10" blocks, the secret to those scrolls (IMHO) is very small stitches around the head of the scroll. I also read somewhere that when doing something that's curved on both sides (like the tails of the scrolls), you should do the smaller part first, so I try to do that by starting the scrolls just before the head, working the smaller part of the tail and then up the back side of the tail to where I started. It helped a lot when I started doing them that way.

well I did what you said and it helped with the scrolls I noticed that there are alot of scroll blocks maybe by the end of this quilt My scrolls will improve  here is my block# 17 at 7"

Those scrolls are looking good, Lynnie. I don't know how you guys do those 7" blocks. Sure glad I enlarged mine.

Now I am wishing that I would have enlarged mine.

Lesley can you explain your boarders on the outside of the center blocks I would like to see a close-up of the border. Thanks for all your help guiding me on this adventure it has been fun. I am finishing my last block for the center and I am curious about the border. Thanks for sharing:)

Lynnie...Lesley is on vacation and out of her country right now...but I think what you are looking for is on page 490 of her PDA. The pics on that page are of how she made that border.

lynnie k 05-19-2011 05:55 PM

Sandpat I have no Idea how to locate this information. What is a PDA?

JudyG 05-19-2011 06:25 PM

Lynnie, here's the link to Lesley's PDA at page 490. Lesley shows how she's working on that border about halfway down the page I think. http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-22961-490.htm

PDA means Personal Diary and Announcements. Some people have them, some people don't. At the bottom of the page here right next to the Topics List is the PDA link that will take you to that section.
