Just wanted to encourage everyone who is hesitant. It's easier than it looks... try it. You won't be disappointed and you will have a great feeling of accomplishment when you are done!

I set the scaling on my printer at "NONE" and amazingly the block turned out dead on 12.5 inches. You don't have to worry about your seams. Just sew on the line and everything will be great.

I just realized what I wrote. You all know that I was off to Paper Peice, I hope! Anyway, now I am excited. I only got this corner done. It took me forever, I had to rip out 2 seams, tried to repair one with scotch tape which gummed up my needle and caused my bobbin holder to turn, when the needle hit that and stopped my machine I got mad and threw it away. Took a break, came back, and dug it out of the trash can. I did not start over but I did finish the portion I was working on and ....whatta ya know...I think I got it! I will finish the block when I get back from Georgia on Friday! I know I can do this and I am so happy that you all challanged and encouraged me. I thank you from the bottom of my quilty heart!

However, I have a question. This block looks as though it is going to turn out at 11.5". Am I right? Do I need to scale it up to match the January block or can I just add a small background border when it is finished and squared up?

As I am quite new to quilting, I am not too sure what to do for the best.

When you printed your pattern did you reset to "none"? My first pattern was set on another default (I think it was size to fit or something like that) and it printed out and I measured it and where it was supposed to be 6 1/2" it was actually just shy of 6". Hope this helps :) I'm going to attempt mine tomorrow.

No, I hadn't realised that I needed to reset the printer. Now, I've done that, it will be fine. Thank you so much Sharon. I'd only done one section so I haven't lost much and gained experience!

love, love, love everyones efforts so far..it is incredible to see how different each persons block turns out, i think that is half the fun of the BOMS..and some people are just so darned quick and get theirs made while I am still thinking about it!
I on the other hand have had my fabrics sitting there looking at me for the last few days to see which colors I liked the best!
So I have now finally cut all my pieces out and numbered the piles and hopefully over the weekend will have some time to start putting it together.
Looking forward to seeing more of everyones wonderful creations!
