Thanks QuiltE, my DH works on a mine site and although I do look forward to him being away I also long for him to be home. I will just have to make him stop watching cooking shows, cause he thinks he lives in a restaurant:D
Well I am off to pack my car ready to spend a day sewing with my machine embroidery group. Keep those beautiful blocks coming everyone, the eye candy is unbelievable |

Wow-I love coming to this thread (or corral as QE would say). I can't believe how beautiful everyone's blocks are--and a unique take on each one. Just love them all.
GardnerGal I learned doing FWS not to square up my blocks until I was ready for sashing. The sashing "tames" all those waves and helps make them all the same size. (not that mine varied in size -HA!!) |

I can see that you cram two weeks of "life" together, in the one week he's home ... and then wheeeeee you're on your own again! :) I'm sure you miss him when he's gone, but somewhat enjoy the independence you gain ... while at the same time are anxious for him to return ASAP! |

Fantastic variety of fabric choices. I like looking such beautiful and well done blocks. So great combo fabrics & colors, those fussy cut are perfect for each block. Very well done.
As for me, here is my Arizona block: |
Your stars are so nicely lined up......pretty block....:)
|
WendiQ ... I'm sure you'll back track later, when you feel up to doing A Beauty! White and blue always look so nice, fresh and crisp together! Maybe try later and you'll get the other one to load.
ArtEC ... oh so nice! Both ... looks like you two could put yours together for a mix and match bunch of fabrics! |

What fantastic blocks. I love all the fussy cutting. How so very creative.

JeanieG,
I love your blocks. The red and blue one is so striking. The fabric that you used for At the Depot is so charming. Well done. Janie |

At the depot is done.
This is my first block with templates and freezer paper method, I'm pretty happy with the result. Thank you Honchey, dublb, anael, JeanieG and QuiltingNinaSue for the great tips. Riding and learning new skills. Woo-hoo! |

I got some other fabric to go with the Betsy Ross & used some of it in this block!
Here's my At the Depot |
ArtEC ... love that fussy cut centre. Great fabric! Can you please show us your block in full colour? I'm thinking it's not showing as such, right now?
DublB ... looks like a great go-with for your other fabrics. I was in a store the other day and though of you when I saw lots of USA flag fabric! Of course, nothing it's equal for the Canadian flag. Would wonder why? :) |
Oh, no! QuiltE, You should be able to get some Canadian Flag fabric!:( I think everyone should be able to obtain the things for their country! Everyone should be able to show how much they love their country! That's not fair! I hope more of it becomes available soon.
|
Beautiful blocks everyone, great to see some new "faces" joining us. Pssssttt maybe they heard how much fun we had making the Farmers Wife Sampler blocks ;)
|
DublB ... there's usually some flag material that comes out around Canada Day. Although it's usually more a fun look to it, than flags waving like what I saw of yours the other day. My patriotism this year will be to make a Mountie! I found a cute patterm last year that makes a tall Mountie standing at A-ttention!! :) (think door panel size) It'll be a fun thing to do.
|
Love the "fussy cuts"......that is one gorgeous horse!

I have just tried another photo but guess what... no progress with the colors  the central and X fabrics are dark blue instead of black as they are showing in the picture. |

"So I'm amongst theives and gamblers", says the woman with the pious last name. Guess since I am no longer the absent quilt whisper, just call me Preacher!
Hey kwiltkrazy are you joining the PC or are you taking over my role as quilt whisperer? She's a great quilter, I have one of her DQ's to back that up. And fry guy, you've got the hang of fussy cutting those PC fabrics. Great interpretations! |
No Gladie, I'm just the fool n the corner drooling. Such beautiful blocks. I never find such fantastic fabric.
