Hey kwiltkrazy are you joining the PC or are you taking over my role as quilt whisperer? She's a great quilter, I have one of her DQ's to back that up.

Oh right ... so you think we're thieves and gamblers? geeeeeeesh!!!!

OKSGlad ... well you know what we need to do with this KKrazy lady ... want some help, and we'll bring her in? :)

.................... might as well add kidnapping to our list of discretions! :)

oksewglad 01-22-2012 12:16 AM

Oh I think she may have enough on her plate, so best not to bother her. She really does great FMQ and is very thoughtful when she creates her little gems.:)

Not even when you get into the world cup soccer playoffs? We se the green and yellows shirts here in the US then.

Well, well, there's one thing that this group isn't......BORING!!!
I finally found my camera to take a photo of Arizona...I don't have the software for scanning on the printer down here, just the drivers for printing off the internet on the new cp...Here she is...

Quiltingninasue....recognize anything????

QuiltE 01-22-2012 11:51 AM

*Nods highest approval!!*

Nothing nicer than blue and red together.
Gosh I think someone has that in their flag?
Oh yea ... the Brits and Aussies .... and Ontario!!!!!! :)
*devilish giggles*

Whaaaaaaaat no BINGO on Sundays? :)

dublb 01-22-2012 12:52 PM

Great movement in this block! I love red & blue together & not just in the patriotic colors either.:)

Anael 01-22-2012 01:01 PM

Great block Honchey and perfect points :D

Honchey 01-22-2012 01:16 PM

Never on Sunday!!!! Strange...I never go to bingo when I'm home in NJ..only when I'm away...I will be going again on Tuesday evening..I have extra $$ from my winnings.

All this aside..you guys are doing a great job with your blocks and "conversations" and it's really wonderful to see such comaradarie within the group..it's no wonder that those that "happen" upon this thread want to join us in our "trailride"...It makes me feel good inside to know that.

Thanks for the compliments...QNS sent me the red fabric to cheer me up when I wasn't feeling well..It's from Japan and it has a beautiful sheen that makes it look iridescent when the light hits it a certain way. I just love it !!

I'm going to freezer paper a few blocks and had to buy a roll of it at Walmart..I can't believe the price was so high..$5.76 + tax. unreal.. anyway tonite I play with it..I will be doing one of next weeks blocks..haven't decided which one to start with....Honchey

dublb 01-22-2012 02:52 PM

Hounchy- I've been using the freezer paper method on all of the blocks so far & boy do I like the accuracy. I hope you like it!

Honchey 01-22-2012 02:58 PM

I've done the freezer paper method quite awhile ago and I hope I just have the patience to remember all the nuances of it. HHH

kwiltkrazy 01-22-2012 03:11 PM

Gladie: did you receive my last check? hahaha. You sound like my press agent, you sure do great promoting. This is tongue and cheek. Thanks for the wonderful complement.
Love the blue and red block, they are wonderful colors together.

oksewglad 01-22-2012 04:38 PM

Oh so I have to follow that old "the check's in the mail" line, huh? What am I going to do, I spent $$$ on fabric at a LQS and was counting on your "check" to cover!!!

Too bad, we can't see the Japanese fabric IRL to really appreciated the beauty of your block, Honchey.

kwiltkrazy 01-22-2012 04:55 PM

So glad to be back on the board. I'm even getting use to the new format.

I lost you guys a while ago..The red fabric is in the Arizona block...It's not an oriental print...if you look closely you can see the japanese influence in the design.

In printing out the templates I noticed that some of them are the same but they're labeled differently..I didn't realize that. I have the templates/freezer paper all ready for 3 blocks..I hope I don't mess them up.
Okay, I'll bite...What is it I don't know yet?????

LOL!! I should make mine from farm fabric rather than Ponies shouldn't I. But I've decided to use the Kansas Troubles fabrics I have on hand. Here's the link to the fabrics I'm using Post # 320

JeanieG 01-23-2012 06:50 PM

Last night I finished the flimsy of my Bonnie Hunter Orca Bay Mystery Quilt for this year. I think it turned out really well, it is pretty brightly colored! It is post 271 if you are interested.

Thanks for giving us the heads up ... Bright, though not overpowering. I like it a lot!!
From your comment, it looks like you were undecided on the blue ... I think it really pulls it all together nicely.

I'm like OKSGlad ... hadn't followed Orca Bay to know what to even expect.
Next time, be sure to nudge me ... and perhaps I'll join in on the Mystery too! :)

She has a Mystery every year starting the end of November. Makes it difficult around Christmas time, but here is no rush to finish. She recommends that you just do a few of each step if you don't have much time. This took 8 weeks, just a step at a time.

Here is a link to 2010-11 Mystery - Roll, Roll, Cotton Bowl. A much more "mellow" quilt!

oksewglad 01-24-2012 07:53 PM

I think I like that design better than the Orca, but both are beautiful, thanks for sharing.

QuiltE 01-25-2012 05:38 AM

JeanieG ... Oh my goodness ... your Roll Roll one is a real eye catcher! Very spring like on a dreary winter's morn!

dublb 01-25-2012 11:10 AM

JeanieG- Both are Lovely quilts!

JeanieG 01-25-2012 12:53 PM

Thanks so much everyone. It was a little off topic, hope no one minds too much! I really enjoyed doing both of the Mystery Quilts. They sure turn out nice. It is amazing to me how everything fits together so well, and the borders fit perfectly too.

mirabelle 01-25-2012 01:33 PM

Beautiful quilt JeanieG, Bonnie's mystery are sure interesting to make.
