OKSGlad ... The blue is kinda neat. It's been in the sell off rack at the LQS for awhile. I bought some, and was tempted by lots, but thought it was a bit over the top to use it very much. Hwever ... would make an interesting backing.

**mutters to self**I will not buy I will not buy ...

All this state block talk ... you're getting me thinking. Maybe I should do extra blocks .. one for each of my PC friends' states?

Anael, ArteEC, MiraB ... by chance are there blocks for your countries?

JanieW ... I've never seen/heard of there being any provincial blocks. But if by chance you have?

gardnergal970 04-23-2012 04:24 AM

Blue Bell 04-29-2012 05:39 AM

Love your blue blocks. Awesome piecing.

oksewglad 04-29-2012 07:47 AM

Thanks for stopping in BlueBell--how about a cuppa coffee as we chat?

Blue Bell 04-29-2012 10:35 AM

That sounds wonderful. I'll bring the apple pie.

dublb 04-29-2012 11:54 AM

Welcome. Come in & sit a spell.:)

Anael 04-29-2012 12:53 PM

Apple pie! I love apple pie :D
I love grannyQ's blocks too!

grannyQ 04-29-2012 02:55 PM

Thank you everyone. It's good to be back in the saddle so to speak.
Thank you Jeanie for the tip on posting pictures with Picasa, I'm not so good with all of this computer stuff. So I'm finally able to post pictures. Took several trys but finally got it.

QuiltingNinaSue 04-29-2012 03:09 PM

Good for you. I am still learning Picasso myself. Then, like, I had to work to get rid of the copies of the copies, learn how to name them, and get the PC blocks into their own section. Not 100 per cent happy with it; liked my Nikon program better, but it does not work with fire fox or windows 7. Its harder to get things in ABC order 'cause the programmers of the new system had forgotten how to use their ABCs, I guess.

Just goes to show you are never too old to learn something new. Welcome back in the saddle, PC trail, in our virtual RV that is equipped with anything you can dream up. Quite different from the early western days of Chuck wagons, dust and smoke and lack of sanitation.

oksewglad 04-29-2012 04:28 PM

Blue Bell I'll bring some sliced cheddar to top our apple pie with. Yeah it's a Midwestern thing.
Congratulations on your big win!! Share with everyone now, don't be shy.

Blue Bell 04-29-2012 06:16 PM

OK, Gladie, I will share my awesome win with the QB members.

My guild had their quilt show last weekend and I won a blue ribbon. My very first. I was totally surprised.

BETTY62 04-29-2012 07:05 PM

Ladies, they are beautiful. Thank you for sharing. I look forward to seeing them posted.

gardnergal970 04-30-2012 04:49 AM

Apple pie with cheese on top...what goings on and it's been only a day! I'll bring the vanilla ice cream for those that like it sweet...we actually have some with the Blue Bell brand here in the Midwest.

Betty62....you come and peek...have a piece of pie and coffe with us!

QuiltE 04-30-2012 11:10 AM

And to think I missed the apple pie!!! :(
As for that cheddar cheese ... we do it here in Ontari-ari-ari-ooooooo too!
And as y'all know, make mine extra extra old, .... or extra sharp as you'd say!! :)
(and if you want something really really good ... some shredded cheddar on hot apple pie or apple crisp ... OMG!!!)

GrannyQ .... Your basket block has got to be one of the prettiest ... the navy with dots just frame the plaid basket and posies ever so nicely!

BlueBell ... Congratulations!! and please do show us your quilt!!!

Blue Bell 04-30-2012 04:47 PM

I will ask my grandson to forward a picture. Hopefully, he can figure out how to do it.

Honchey 04-30-2012 05:08 PM

Carriem, GrannyQ, Great piecing on these blocks!!! Blue is also one of my favorite colors. H.

What amazing blocks. This is my Betty's Delight

I really like how this one turned out.

Anael 04-27-2014 07:22 AM

That's a striking block! I love it :)

QuiltE 04-27-2014 08:05 AM

W4Me ..... like a web within a web! All the colours in the black will play so well with the other batiks you have. Another productive weekend for you!

JanRN ... look at that turquoise!!!!!!!!!!!

oksewglad 04-27-2014 08:12 AM

Ditto to above comments! Are you still not PPing these? Great piecing!

works4me 04-27-2014 08:20 AM

Thank you everyone. I was a bit worried about the black because it was so strong but this block seemed to work well with all the other colours in the black fabric.

And, yes, I am still rotary cutting and piecing. :)

JeanieG 04-27-2014 09:43 AM

Oh that is simply striking! I love it!

dublb 04-27-2014 11:16 AM

Wow! The contrast in this one is just wonderful! Great block!

janRN 04-27-2014 01:45 PM

W4Me, this is like a trip down memory lane! Mostly fun but sometimes I remember the horrors of some of those blocks. I love your theme and you have so many fabrics that it's not going to be a dull quilt--what a variety. And yes, turquoise is my favorite color but NOT SPIDERS!!!!! Love following your progress.

works4me 04-27-2014 02:10 PM

Thanks JeanieG and dublb - I chose the block carefully and I'm very happy with how it turned out.

Thanks janRN - currently, there are enough of the "simpler" blocks so that I can avoid the uglies for a bit yet. I dislike spiders, too. So, no spider-themed fabric where the spiders look realistic and no Halloween decorations with realistic spiders. Well, one, but he has purple lights all over him so doesn't creep me out.

QuiltE 04-28-2014 11:55 AM

JanRN ... think of those webs as cousins to Casper the Friendly Ghost!!!! :D
