I don't know about "pretties" but here are mine. I substitued All Those Squares (from QuiltersCache) for Kansas. I wanted to have some farm scenes (and quite honestly I didn't want to do y-seams).

Lovely job!! I love it. Perfect job. Lovely farm scenes. I love the way you did that.

JanRN, I love your substitution block with the farm scenes and the fabric in lightening looks so dramatic, just like a lightening storm. Great job on both!!
Here are mine. I messed up on lightening. When I squared it I took too much off the right hand side so I'm going to do it over but you get the gist of it. I still need more practice adding corner squares on Kansas. |
Thank you both for such nice comments.
Termi, congrats--your Kansas block it great. You have nice colors and good contrast and you nailed those **blasted y- seams. I really like the colors you used in Lightning. |

Here are mine for this week, I worked on Kansas ALL day yesterday. Think I did more reverse sewing that straight sewing lol...
|
I played my game of guessin' which blocks belong ta who.
Jan - I love the contrast in your Lighting. When i first saw your 'All those squares " I thought that Artemcasa was back.(Has anyone heard from her?) They are awesome farm scenes! Termi - Ya nailed 'em!!! Lovely blocks. mirabelle - I knew that those were yours right off. Beautiful! |
JanRN ... what a pretty alternate block and I'm sure you knew I'd love to see the farm scenes! Angry stormy sky there!
Termi ... Well done on that Kansas block! Looks nice and flat, straight, square and pointy in all the right places! OOPS on the lightening ... it happens! Nice effect with the bandana fabric. MiraB ... <sigh> what else do we say when we see your beautiful blocks! Always so beautiful and this week, no exception! Kansas? ... As I looked at it ... if anyone wants to do it and avoid Y-seams. you could switch it to HSTs and still get the same look, just more seams! DublB ... no, not a word from ArteEC. I know she was dealing with family health problems. Anael ... Me-thinks this should be about now that you'll be back from holidays? Do hope you had a wonderful time and got lots of R+R and are now ready to R .......... esume! "D |
JanRN your farm scenes are beautiful and I love your marbled fabric.
Termi your blocks are beautiful, love the paisley print. Thanks everyone for your kind words, as always lots of encouragement |

The weather in France was great, lots of sunshine, only one day cloudy and no sunshine. We weren't very active, mostly beach and a walk in the evening so yes, lots of R + R :D |
Mirab, what pretty blocks! Makes me wish I had "softer" tastes instead " in your face" colors LOL. Great job on both of them.
Anael, welcome back. |
Thank you Jan!
|
JanR...what great fussy cutting and such a nice balance in the sub block. I'm with you on the bold colors. I'm stepping outside my usual though with a BOM called U-Taupeio I'm doing locally and I could get used to it...at least once in awhile.
Mirabelle...looks like you're back in the swing of things. I can't wait to see your finished quilt. No one will ever guess that it was made on the pony trail. Termi...you really nailed the Kansas block. Maybe just a little frame on one side of lightening would be enough rather than starting all over again. Anael...welcome back! No one else has been brave enough to admit how far behind they are but I can assure you, there are other riders in the rear but we all make up the PC and we couldn't do without them. As someone said, this is not a race. Hang in there and do what you can. We welcome your contribution. |

One done for week 26th: the Kansas block. It may or may not go into the quilt. Grrrr. Wiser choice for me: substitute.

I don't see anything wrong with yuour Kansas block QNS! I think I see some chicks or parts of them :D
|
Granny Q, beautiful blues--you are so clever getting such contrast with such limited colors.
QNS, I love your block. It's fun and colorful and will add lots to your PC quilt. |
Or you could say someone left the shell corn bin door open and all the chickens got a good feast, QNS.
|
QNS--this one is on my list of "to do" blocks...I haven't done does and darts yet, so might change my mind! I think you did a great job, especially the fussy-cutting in the center. :)
|
Your contrast is perfect Sue! Beautiful colors!
