I think that last one came called "9" 'cause it pieced the quilt together and bound it. It told the story of the Civil War from the children's point of view... from Homestead Hearth in Mexico, Mo., and was sold to other quilt shops to sell...and I found it at the Quilted Kitty in Lincoln, NE. It was even on QB, but no one posted any progressive photos.

Beautiful block Anne, don't worry you were not alone having problems with this block, I just couldn't get it straight in my head. One of my roses is going the wrong way and I am not unpicking it. It took me all afternoon just to sew this one block. Not happy with my choice of blue fabric but I am having to use what I have and that is not much.
DD is coming home tomorrow to help me with my Jamestown so may not get my next PC block made until Monday.. too many projects not enough hours in a day..

Oh MiraB ... absolutely gorgeous ... and I don't see any roses going the wrong way. I like them like that!! :) Glad that you have your DH home again for a few days. Might I wask, what is Jamestown that he'll be helping you with? ENJOY your time with him!! :)

Mirabelle, I can hear those sewing machines humming clear across the waters. What fun it is to have your DD as your partner for such a large project! BTW, I like the little touch of blue in this weeks block. Very nice.
QNS, I think I found the correct Civil War BOM. I don't care for the large quilt either. There doesn't seem to be much contrast. Marcus Brothers has good quality fabric though so maybe the best use would be to forget the quilt and use the fabric in other projects. Too bad though since you've paid for the entire package. And there are other designers of CW fabric that you might like. Some are more colorful.

QuiltE, Jamestown Landing is a quilt pattern by Bonnie Hunter, it is in her new book String Fling, but about 12 months ago featured in an Australian magazine. DD and I spent the weekend at a retreat 2 weeks ago and we pieced her whole quilt top, I did post photos of it but I can't remember which week:rolleyes:
I am making the same quilt and DD is spending the day at home tomorrow and we are going to try and get some of mine made. DD tweaked the pattern a little and it looks nothing like the original.

It's good to have you back on the chat, I have missed you

Thanks MiraB for the Welcome Back! ... more of what what I have missed!
I was thinking maybe Jamestown was a machine ... eventually I;ll catch up on old threads.
And imagine, I got your DD and DH switched around ... so used to your DH coming and going that I did not read carefully. :(

It;s good to be back ... sort of ... just wish that I could be back and SEWING!!!!!!!

QuiltE that's ok, DH has been home for the past few weeks, he had to use up some of his holiday leave. He has trimmed all the trees and palms and tidied up our yard while he has been home. We are getting ready for the wet season. He goes back to work on Wednesday and life will return to normal for me.

I'm sure you were glad to have him home for a spell .... and as you said, now life can resume to normal, and you can find more quilting time! :)

Honchey--I really like your fabric choices! Very pretty block.

Mirabelle--I think your roses will work out just fine in your finished quilt...also agree with Ggal that the light blue is a nice touch.
