Ok, thanks for clarifying, Bev.

Today I finished up all of my Christmas shopping! Yay! Most years we don't "do" gifts, but this year everyone wanted to get small gifts for each other. Mine are wrapped and under the tree... all but the travel organizer I am making for my DIL. Gotta hurry up and finish that.

dublb, That sounds like a great recipe. One that you need to share, that size! :-)

SBG, What are doing with the dress scraps? lol Something, I bet!

QNS, Oh, you sew with no bobbin too? Haven't we all done that at one time or another!

Dublb, I am about to throw my BH pieces for Good Fortune into the trash! Grrr. Got all of clue no.! all done. Cannot see a problem with no. 2, but 3 is a problem; don't think 5 & 6 will be a problem since I have worked on samples of each, but without BH essential ruler, it is a challenge. May have to 'lurk' until I can afford that in January. I admire your abilities to follow what she says. She has as much energy as the energized bunny. Wow.

Christmas gift appeared today by mail; a lovely Texan I have never met personally has gifted us the past five years with a shipment of fruit from Pittman & Davis. Our only gift we have received and its been a delight and a big hit every year. Bless her heart (no, she is not part of the QB personage).

I hate doing chevron strips. When I was doing the Farmers Wife Sampler, someone on the board figured the size of strips, 3 sewn together and then cut at 45????degrees and they came out perfectly.
How nice for you to receive the delicious fruit box.

Don't give up, Sue! You've done too much to quit. Your fruit gift is lovely. Reminds me of my Dad... while he was alive he would send us a big box of oranges and grapefruits from Florida. Were they ever good!

The countdown is ticking for me... Tomorrow hubby's uncle will arrive and will ride with us to Christmas at DD's in Memphis on Sunday. So, gotta wash sheets and clean house for uncle's visit, then bake more cookies to take with us. Just finished the last sewn gift tonight... a cosmetics organizer for DIL like the one I made for DD last year. Hope I don't forget anything!

The car will be loaded down like Santa's sleigh, with gifts, a turkey, cookies, a dog and all his stuff, and us three adults and all our luggage. I hope we can get it all in! :D

The tribe begins arriving this afternoon...have a couple of bathrooms to finish cleaning and start an evening meal for 18...let the good times roll.

Merry Christmas everyone and safe travels to those on the road.

How I envy you Oksewglad! Oh, to be that young again. Memories are joys, when the body can no longer go that way! Merry Christmas all, good, happy trails to those on the road.

I have house cleaning to do today too. Uncle arrives this afternoon and tomorrow we leave for Memphis. I still have a couple batches of cookies to make later today, but at least I finished all the sewing gifts... This is the last one I completed last night. Hard bag to make!

It's a travel organizer for cosmetics, for my DIL.

SBS I love your bag. I am sorry it was hard to make. I bet it will be loved.

OK, Enjoy your family! I have been cleaning up some of my sewing clutter. DH said that he is gonna make a sign for the door that we all come in through that says; "Warning! A Quilter lives here!"

Sue, I drew my lines in the rectangle instead of on the squares. I also cut teh squares a tiny bit bigger. I then cut down the Chevrons & the HST's. I had a hard time accepting that tiny seam allowance but am gonna trust Bonnie.
I can send ya some picts by PM. The picts do have a ruler & are on a cutting mat so you can see the measurements & I know we aren't supposed to post measurements.

I used to get Texas grapefruit from my folks when they lived there. Those citrus fruits are really something when fresh off the tree! I gave blueberries to someone once who hadn't had ones picked from Michigan, and that person was pretty surprised how big and sweet they were. Fresh produce direct from God is such a treat.

Great finish SBG!
