I don't envy you canning all that meat Nina...It's not an easy thing to do..

We left about 13 packages of hamburger, 3 chuck roasts and one package of sirloin from our last beef we purchased from a neighbor. He has another quarter of beef for us in March. Worth more per pound now than then. Processed six quarts of ground meat and Venison steak (from a cousin back on dh childhood home front) tonight, dh stripped the boiled bones and I have 8 quarts ready to process in the morning. Crock pots did not work in the electrical outlets where I had them, so I changed to different outlets, trying to cook them all night, and hopefully, be ready in the morning to cut up all the boneless rump roasts One step at a time.

Then I can thaw the pork or do some of our hens and ducks before Friday. So nice that the processor canner is working and does the 90 minutes per batch.

Now I get to read a while, then go to bed about nine or nine thirty. I am not a night owl at my age; need my sleep and love to eat! JanRn, its so nice you are enjoying your retirement. Honchey, lovely little scraps to arrange the way you want too in your quilts. Carrie, sounds like progress to me, on your new 'cave'. Ok, you always amaze me what all you get done on the farm and in your community, and in your sewing room. Love the stories and show of the quilts.

I have had a crazy weekend. Sat AM Dh sent an e-mail ta me that showed a 2003 Sequoia. Gosh, it was sure lovely! I like the first generation Tundra's better than the 2012 that I have been drivin'. It was DH's Tundra & he said that If I didn't like it, after drivin' it a bit, I could git an earlier one. Well I"ve been lookin' for either a first gen Tundra or Sequoia for about 3 months now. The ones around here have mostly been used in the oilfeild thus have their wheels driven off. Anyway Dh sent me this e-mail & asked if I liked it. It was in Hurst TX. (A suburb o' Ft Worth) Well I liked it based on the pictures. :) So all day on Sat Dh talked back & forth w/the dealership in Hurst till he had a preliminary deal. So yesterday we drove the 5.5 hours & stayed in a hotel. Taday we saw the Sequoia & they saw our Tundra. Well, I'm a happy camper as we drove the Sequoia home. It was in great shape! The seats were so much better on my back. :) It is a purdy grey & has heated seats. :)

Good for you Bev and congrats on your new to you Sequoia...I know how important the right fit is..I have short legs and can't have my legs hanging.. they need to reach the floor....Good luck with it...

Bev, good luck with your new car. your dh is a keeper to find it for you.

Honchey did you join the latest mystery quilt series?

We got 20 quarts of beef done and it wore both of us out, so no more canning this week. we are putting more inside storm windows up to stop the flow of cold air in from outside. It has helped a lot in dh's room, so will do all three windows on the North side and my bathroom on the East side. My floor keeps my feet so cold, I feel like we are in Alaska again. Alaska has had to cancel its dog sled racing in Kenai this year....not enough snow there.

Hi Everyone, Let's say I've hopped on the train...I have most of my 4 patch's done..and now the hunt for the lights & meds for the next clue..

First step Of DH's procedures is done.. went to the surgicenter at 6 a.m. this morning.. He's resting right now...I'm going to take a nap then figure out what to make for dinner. later. H.

Yes DH is a keeper. :) Taday is our 32nd anniversary. We are gonna go out ta eat tanight.

Happy Anniversary, Bev. 32 years is a lot to celebrate these days.

Honchey, I sympathize with your dh; my 'surgery' is tomorrow when they crave on my left side of my nose until they get it all removed. If they crave to deep, then they have to do reconstruction surgery. Have my fingers crossed that they can get it all and don't have to do that.

We all are prayin' for ya Sue! & we have been prayin' for Anne's DH. Huggs ta all.

Happy Anniversary, dublb! I've often thought that 25 is a major milestone in this day and age. Congratualtions to you and Mrdublb! Enjoy the "new ride".
