Anael....a walled garden...what a beautiful, serene retreat! The twins will enjoy it too next year! Does Mick like to dig in the dirt?
Jan...a beautiful block from OK. I have yours made for .....don't know when....we'll both be surprised.
Honchey...I'm ready for the June block announcement. What a lot if patience to make those little Hexies. So cute!
QuiltE....so you not only got a new machine, you got an entire new studio? What a way to go!! I will ask my DH to cut out a larger opening in the Gidget table I have. I've wanted to get things straightened up a bit first and I keep getting sidetracked.
Jeanie...this is a once in a lifetime to get those little features that make a kitchen so functional as well as beautiful. Since you have a backup kitchen in your RV, don't leave anything out that you think you would really like if the budget can take it. Just pretend that you're at the beach with your RVing friends! Congratulations on getting the PC back pieced. Will you quilt it yourself?
Dubib....how do you like your embroidery machine? Happy belated birthday too
Carrie...hope you had a nice day with DH. Every anniversary is to celebrated!
QNS...no snow here but it is raining and much cooler than the past couple of days.
Today is DH's birthday...we're the same age until my birthday in September. He doesn't like to make a big deal of it but the coffee pot quit yesterday and the backup one is not functioning to his likes so there will be a trip to town to get a new one.
Janie....did you get snow like QNS and OK?

LOL GG I have no dirt to dig in:) :) He likes playing with all the fallen leaves and I always give him water to play with. One day he stumbled and fell into the water. He didn't like it :D

QNS, I just sent you a picture of the front of my house.

Anael ... I bet if you did a close up pic, one of our resident gardeners would ID it pretty quick for you!

GGal ... I've been getting sidetracked too! :D The new machine would not fit into my old table, so I traded it with my machine. I didn't really want to get a new table, but at the same time, I refused to go back to non-table. I would have been content with the same style of table as the Janome, but none fit the machine. It sure added to the upgrade expense ... so I was relieved that in the midst of it all, I found out I was getting the healthy income tax refund! :D

Honchey--another thing you can do with a cake mix is "crisps"...my favorite is apple. I cut up 5-6 apples (Granny Smith), sprinkle a little cinnamon on and put in the pan (9x9). In the microwave melt a stick of margarine and stir in dry cake mix (we like Betty Crocker Golden Vanilla, but any vanilla, white or yellow will work) until crumbly...then crumble on top of apples. Some people use the canned pie filling...I have tried it with canned cherries (used 2 cans for one box of cake mix) and blueberries (not together). I have also done it with frozen peaches...added some sugar to these, but it was several years ago so can't remember how much. Anyway you just bake at 350* until the apples are tender or other fruit is bubbly.

QE--not DD's first migraine just the first to be this bad and last 2 days with no relief.

Anael--very pretty garden area. Looks like a nice sunny day there! Sorry no help in identifying your pretty plant.

We have rain and cold (30s) today. I had 2 daffodils come up by the end of our driveway so had one of the kids cut them yesterday...didn't want them to die in the cold. Nice to have a little color on the table. I just got done making some broccoli and cheese soup. It will be good for lunch and maybe supper too. :)

Housework done...off to the clubhouse early today. The planes *will* get done today and maybe I'll even start on the propellers.

CarrieM ... here's hoping she's OK now, for a long time. Happy Flying with those planes today!

Anael ... I am no arborist or gardener, but me thinks that'd be an euonymous. There's many different varieties of them from variegated yellow/green to white/green, to plain greens of all shades. If you want it to go forth and multiply, you should be able to root some shoots, either by bending them down from the plant and covering with soil or breaking some off and doing the same or sticking into some water.</rushes></rushing>

QuiltE, thanks very much! It's this one: Euonymus fornunei 'Emerald & Gold'. Found it on the internet :)

It multiplies on it's own :) I don't have to do anything, just dig up the shoots with roots. I gave a few to friends but never heard how they were doing. This year I want some in my front yard as well so I hope it multiplies again :)

Gals, I do not mind how you bake a cake like that, just pass it around in the virtual RV...it looks soooo good!

I have taken the new machine out of the bag this morning and started the process of 'learning' the new machine...now have it almost hooked up to power...dry run is first learning where and what all the buttons are.
Front of the machine on 'ye ole typewritten stand'; the new table is not in yet.back view,
New Horn Chair...the 'free' bonus. I love how 'tall' the seat is to sit in and how it supports my back.

That's a beautiful machine QNS! I never 'dry learn' ;)
Great bonus!

Anael, your garden is beautiful. What a pleasant place to "stop and smell the roses"--even if you don't grow roses. Or just enjoy a cup of tea--I mean coffee--I know how the Dutch love their "kaffe". Love the brick walk ways. When we were in Holland in 2001 we visited a dairy farm with a driveway of brick--every inch of space utilized with style.

Sidetracked, GGal? I know--that's what's happening in my space and I am so antsy to get sewing, but want my space workable, too. Another snew day in store, QE

Carrie I was thinking chili today, but the cheese broccoli soup sounds delicious. In the fall I often make big batches of it from the side shoots from the garden. My MIL loved it too. I feel so bad for DD to have to deal with migraines at such a tender age. Hope that it doesn't happen too often.

QNS--you're just like a kid with a new toy!! Thanks for the pictures.

Off to make that chili and then keep sorting and petting fabrics.
