Good morning, ladies!

Love your blocks, rw ... as always!

Here are mine:

rwquilts 01-26-2011 09:33 AM

Thank you Weezie and as usual, your blocks are very pretty!

oksewglad 01-26-2011 10:10 AM

Great blocks! weezie, like your use of border fabrics in #52!

JAGSD 01-26-2011 11:16 AM

rwquilts and weezie,
Both of your sets of blocks are so pretty! The color combinations are wonderful.

I hope to be starting mine this afternoon.

Great blocks! I love the border/stripe fabric Weezie.
RW what is the background fabric in your #51? Love it-I'm thinking of something like that for my sashings. If you know the name/manufacturer, I'd love to know.

Here are my 51 & 52

JAGSD 01-26-2011 12:41 PM

Beautiful!

Belles.hold 01-26-2011 01:01 PM

I've just cut out the fabrics for blocks #27 through #30 and hope to start sewing them tomorrow. Weezie, RWQuilts and JanRN, you are an inspiration to everyone in the group for your choice of beautiful fabric and adherence to the timetable. Honchey, I'm sure there wouldn't be the enthusiasm for the FW quilt if you hadn't figured the strip cutting and started the thread for posting photos of the blocks. Thanks to each of you. I hope to catch up before all of you post photos of #110 & #111. Belles

C'mon Belles--you can do it LOL!!! No pressure, I'm just kidding you. I love looking at the blocks and can't wait to see more.

Granny Q your blocks are always gorgeous. I really like the fabric in 51--such movement. Love them.

The fabric used in 51 is Thimbleberries by RJR. Lynette Jensen is the designer, but I don't remember what year or grouping...

Granny Q and JanRN, pretty, pretty blocks!

Hi Y'all, I love the neutrals being used in these blocks. I wish I had a better variety. I am sewing my 51 & 52 tonite I hope I can get them posted in a day or two. I had to buy some complimentary fabric for the main fabric. I just love all the blocks. I really do appreciate all the thanks for my efforts and I want you to know that I REALLY don't mind doing it. I just get very frustated when I have no access to the net. This is my last week in Calabash for about a month and will be home in NJ this weekend if the weather allows. I'm glad that there are still some followers and WE NEED to stick together 'till we get it done. Anne

weezie 01-26-2011 08:36 PM

Thanks everyone for compliments to me & my blocks. Right back atcha!! All very pretty. JanRN, I really love the colorful Jacobean fabric in your #51 (or as someone on one of the machine embroidery groups once wrote, "Jacob Bean".) I love Jacob Bean fabric and designs.

My goodness you ladies are quick--posting on the very first day! And what great blocks and beautiful fabrics. Great job everyone!

janRN 01-27-2011 05:43 AM

Very pretty blocks Auntjo--that rose fabric is to die for.

Jacob Bean!! Love it--thanks for the compliments everyone.

Anne's right--this is such a depressing time of year (for me anyway) and we're smack in the middle of this project. We need to stick together and realize that now we're on the "downhill" side and I think everyone's blocks are getting prettier by the week. THANK YOU!!!!

I think I missed something... as pretty on the wrong side as the right side? I surely don't think they are wrong by any means they are beautiful!
I think they are amazing how you match the fabric to the name of the block it is so fitting and such a wonderful idea. I certainly have learned a lot from everyone thru this als, such a GREAT group!

I bet I know what she means! I have a few blocks that look fine from the right side, but if I flip them over, they look like they were constructed by wild animals. This is not to imply that I think anyone else's block backs look like that!

JAGSD 01-27-2011 02:46 PM

Violet
Beautiful colors in your blocks! I better be getting busy and get mine going.

Quilting Nonnie 01-27-2011 03:38 PM

Quilting Nina Sue--great blocks! I love the grassy fabric in #51--so pretty and makes the block pop. How neat to have hawkeyes to do a hawk block!

Violet: Just love your blocks. That blue is bright and I like the pattern. You're doing such a good job of construction. Your blocks always look so crisp.

mariemy 01-27-2011 06:13 PM

GrannyQ love your blocks!! thought I had to tell you one of the bottom blocks in 51 is turned the wrong way. don't know if you noticed after posting the picture, but wanted to alert you before you started putting them together. I have done this and didn't find it until I was ready to quilt it. I had lots of unsewing to do.

violetsfarm 01-27-2011 07:04 PM

JAGSD and Quiltingnonnie thank you both for the nice remarks. I think everyone is doing a beautiful job and isn't this fun? Violet

Love seeing everyones blocks each week and yes I too am pleased that we are still forging ahead with this project. We are nearly at the halfway mark and as they say its all downhill from here on.

I hope you don't mind & become upset but I thought I would let you know before you go on any further that the Hovering Birds block doesn't look right in the bottom row. The lighter triangle seems to be in the wrong position.

mirabelle 01-28-2011 08:07 PM

Thanks everyone, we are on official cyclone watch here in Far North Queensland. We have cyclone Anthony sitting off the coast and expected to turn and head towards land sometime between now and Monday. It is 2pm Saturday afternoon here. I went grocery shopping this morning to stock up and when DH was home last week he tidied up the yard and did a lot of trimming.
Will be hiding out in my sewing room and hopefully things won't get too bad here. Queensland has had enough bad weather to last us for a while.
