Here is the thread for Week 9. The pieced blocks actually look harder than they are..don't let them scare you. I4...do the center exactly like you did the block last week, then paper piece the outside edges to it. And this week I tried gluing the tri....I did...and its NOT Wonky....YEA!!!! Have fun!

There are about 77 of us all making a reproduction of a quilt made originally by Jane Stickle in 1863. There is a book available called Dear Jane, and also some software. Most of us are working from one, or the other, or both. We have a schedule we are trying to stick to, and most of us started on 1st Jan, with a few late comers, trying to catch up

Well...duh...could I get away with telling you its just "my" version".... NO???? OK, then, *hanging head in shame and wandering off to go fix that block AND redo the H11 where I dont like the fabric placement*

sandpat 02-24-2010 07:48 PM

Jan, your blocks are sooo pretty!

LOL, it's only two little triangles, Patti. There isn't anything wrong with H11 - why not leave it until you have some more done - there are several in the quilt that look bolder than the others around them, but they blend in when they are all together. You can always redo it at the end if you really hate it, but I am willing to bet you won't mind it by then.

Shemjo 02-25-2010 07:25 AM

Your blocks are beautiful, and DONE! I am catching up, thanks to your help with pictures!

I think these are ahead of time, Shemjo, so don't worry - these are supposed to be week beginning March 1st?

I did the same. I'm thinking it was just "the version" we chose. I am definitely not re-doing this one. I know you will still luv me anyways! LOL

Week 9
This has been my hardest group of blocks so far. I don't know if it was the blocks, or me having a few bad days.
H11 - "Y Seam Insanity
I-4 - Funny that this block is called "stability". Whoever named this block had a sense of humor. I lost my mind doing this one (more than once and still not happy with it!).
RS12 - Halfway through the bottom section, realized it needed to be redrafted for PP. Redo - redo still not matching up.
I'm thinking positive that next weeks blocks are going to be better. Smiles

wilhelmina 02-27-2010 10:56 AM

Sheree - they are lovely, the colors are striking!

sandpat 02-27-2010 04:18 PM

Sheree....cheers!!!! I'm sure you are raising a glass after your week of blocks! They look great to me by the way...

As for next week....I worked on C12 today....AND....I made a coaster

luvmortherest 02-27-2010 06:24 PM

luv them sheree

Janstar 02-27-2010 07:05 PM

They are lookin good Sheree!! Your color theme is outstanding!!

Esqmommy 02-27-2010 07:28 PM

Nice blocks everyone. Wow.

Patti - My H11 doesn't have the extra triangles either. I'm just gonna quilt 'em on or let it go. They look fine. Good enough is my motto!

Janstar 02-27-2010 08:04 PM

If you want an easy way to add triangles just fuse them and machine applique them on. Works real well!!

Sheree from Chicago 02-27-2010 08:32 PM

Sheree, Your blocks look wonderful. So sorry you're having a tough week...hopefully we all won't end up with the same problem blocks. I think we'd be on meltdown!
Here's to a better week: Cheers!!
